“Wow - vibrant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 16, 2013

I loved this area. It reminded me of the streets of New York, that are always so vibrant and something happening all of the time. It was a great experience just to walk about. All the vendors on the streets selling their wares. Sometimes you can buy something from the street vendors that will cost you double at the Grand Bazar, (as I sadly found out to late).
Walking the streets late at night is especially wonderful. So alive, so busy so different. The shop windows made me stop in awe as to the array of foods available.
Just get out there and walk - and if you tire, hop on a tram and just ride up and down the street - you can see so much that way without the leg power.

“Remember to stroll around”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Although you may be intent on visiting the key sights in a limited time, remember to set aside some time to stroll around the park and surrounding streets and sit and take some time to take it all in. Probably not strictly Sultanhamet, but we found Gulhane Park to the south of Topkapi palace lovely for strolling in on an early spring day, but avoid the cafe overlooking the water unless you really like Turkish tea and coffee as they sell hardly anything else!

“Great restaurants.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Right next to our hotel and a wonderful place. Good restaurants, and some good shops, find Hassan he is Istanbul's best and most hospitable rug salesman. :) (even though we did not buy a rug).

“Incredibly cozy”

Good restaurants and many cultural things to see. Smag et mix af appelsinjuice og granatæble - or the delicious turkish delight with marshmallow.
