This is the place to be in Istanbul. Most of the main mosques, bazaars and museums are here within walking distance. Plenty of good restaurants too. Galata Bridge is within walking distance and all those seafood restaurants below, have my taste buds savouring at the thought.

Tons of shops and restaurants, friendly people and lots of energy. It's close to the major Istanbul sites like Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque and just a fun place to be.

There is nothing quite like walking the streets of the Old City. Beautiful colours are everywhere and beautiful old buildings. Make sure you have a very comfortable pair of walking shoes on as the cobble stoned roads can be hell on the feet.

Loved it to pieces. Stayed in Taksim too which was lovely but I would recommend the Sulttanahmet area as it's quaint, European and close to all the sights.
