“Great location!!”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

This area of Istanbul is an excellent base to visit the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar. Although within a short walk. Excellent choice of good quality restaurants also.

“Beautiful district”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

We loved the Sultanahmet District on our trip to Istanbul. I highly recommend staying here if you are on a leisure, sightseeing trip. We enjoyed being close to the attractions as well as good shopping and the great hotel / restaurant options in the neighborhood

“Clean”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

The area by the Blue Mosque is currently being revamped with what will be stunning gardens. The area in general is very clean and a trusting area - not once as 2 ladies on holiday did we feel at all uncomfortable.

“Not staying here = lost opportunities”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

Why are we/you in Istanbul? In essence it is because of the Sultanamet district - "old Istanbul". It contains the bulk of the historic sites and magnificent monuments; the bulk of the well-rated restaurants; the bulk of the interesting bazaars; and the bulk of what is intriguing, quaint and photogenic in this great city. Not to stay in Sultanahmet means unnecessary local travel and hence lost opportunities. It is the very core of why one visits Istanbul.
