This new property is located steps from Taksim square — the Times Square or Piccadilly Circus of Istanbul. The rooms are large and the bath rooms are bigger than some hotel rooms I've been in. The beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms were furnished with a somewhat more traditional look than I would have expected from the lobby and exterior, but it didn't detract from the stay. The hotel attracts a wide range of guests including an middle eastern royal family, business travelers (and their "guests") and tourists alike. The level of service is excellent and the rooms clean and well maintained.
However there were some issues which definitely distracted from the experience. First I was surprised that I could hear noise from a bar 2 floors down. While not loud it was distracting while trying to go to sleep. Also I could hear my neighbor in the bathroom in the morning. I could almost make out the conversation. This was surprising since the walls are all covered in stone. The design of the shower was nice with a waterfall shower head but the water would seep out around the door flooding part of the bathroom. Stuff like that shouldn't be an issue at a hotel at this level.
