“Good to go”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

Good to go. Great experience. Don't miss the Medusa head. We went there on a rainy day. Queue was not too long. Worth 10 lira's. There is a section to dress up and click pictures. I thought it was out of place. But lot of people did take pictures dressed up as Sultan and queen.

“Pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

The entrance is a small building on the square next to the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque and is therefore quite often forgotten. But it's definitely worth it!
Underground citernen built in the Roman era. Columns, water, light effects, fish, all accompanied by classical music in the background. A visit takes about 45 minutes.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

I saw the pictures here on the website and read the recommendations. Who would think that this amazing place hides under the streets of Istanbul? The entrance is a bit hidden, pay the fee and take the stairs to the underground world. Read the history and look at the beautiful columns while you walk around the cistern. Safeguard your cameras as water is dripping from the ceiling at some parts.
