“Huge collection of greek and ancient orient art”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

This museum is located right next to Topkapi Palace and the take Müze Card. I had little time left so I spend only a hour there but there are very interesting pieces of greek art and the main attraction is Alexander Sarcophagus which is amazingly well presenved

“No 1 must-see in Istanbul”
Reviewed December 30, 2013 via mobile

It tells the story of civilisation in this land, 9000 years! It is said that Sarcophagus of Alexander and crying women are the best collection. I do think collections related to Anatolia are the most interesting. We can see collections on Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, and Muslims here, but also somewhere else. But those on Anatolia are not well seen in other places. Istanbul is a harmony mixture of East and West, from thousands years ago till today. Archaeology museum obviously tells this more than all other places add together.

“archeology museum”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

Very nice and big museum with lot of pretty things from Turkish history and history of the closest countries. Amazing stuff have at there and 3 floors full of historical pieces. 3rd floor is little bit boring but except of that it's really good way how to spend time.

“Heaps of stuff”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

AMAZING Artifacts. Upon entering the museum grounds, the first thing you'll notice are heaps of archeological pieces scattered on the lawn. The establishment is bursting with interesting finds,  well preserved artifacts, mosaics, sarcophagi, ancient shipwrecks from the BC/AD era. A history lovers haven. You can easily spend half a day here. Well worth a visit.
