“great museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

give yourself plenty of time to do this museum. we were greedy and went the day after we arrived. Jet lag intruded, so we had to leave before we were finished. Dont' miss the Tile Kiosk with ceramic beauties from the great potters of Iznik. I could have moved into this museum for a week or two.

“Surprisingly better than expected”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

It was pouring with rain so we were looking for things to do inside. We enjoyed the museum more than we expected. The artifacts were quite amazing in the main building. It is a shame that the building itself needed some work though. Would recommend on a wet day for sure.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

I was so surprised that there are lots of (lots of!) archeological monuments. Amazing place. I spend there very nice time with my friends and such a sizable chunk of human culture.

“Best 10 TL You Can Spend in Istanbul”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

Great value and lots to see. Exhibits are well displayed and labelled. Great activity for a rainy day. Some of the exhibit space is closed for renovation, but still lots loads to see.

“Very interesting collection”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2013 via mobile

The ground floor is the most interesting part of the museum with a vast collection of ancient sarcophagus belonging to Alexander the great and other kings and leaders. You'll spend half a day inside and wont notice time passing by.
Audio guides are also available at the entrance.
