“The Rustem Pasha Mosque”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2013

Close by the Grand Bazaar, the Rustem Pasha Mosque offers a space of tranquility in all the busy-ness of the nearby Grand and the Spice Bazaars. It is beautiful, with its Iznik tiles depicting tulips in numerous formats. Not as large as the Blue Mosque or the Suleymaniye Mosque, it is nonetheless impressive and welcoming.

“Better than the big touristy mosques”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 19, 2013 via mobile

Right next to the spice market, this mosque with a beautiful interior is a great find. Come see this! They were even a bit less strict about attire than the other mosques, as well.

“A little jewel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

This is a little jewel ensconced one story above a bustling marketplace. Studded with colorful Iznik tiles.

“Fantastic ceramics”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2013

Small, peaceful and quiet. We were the only visitors and once the staff had finished vacuuming the carpet it was quiet and peaceful - despite being built over a market

“Spiritually Beautiful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

We visited this Mosque as part of our tour. Its located near the spice bazaar and across the street from the Bosphourus River. Upon entering this beautiful mosque you can see the painstaking attention to detail in the blue tiles lining the walls and ceilings. An active 16th century Mosque in the center of a busy trading district, the atmosphere inside is tranquil and calming. Its a place of worship and once inside you feel spiritual. A definate must see while in Istanbul!
