Owner description: This enormous palace was the Imperial residence of Ottoman sultans for almost 400 years. Although much of the palace is not accessible, the daily tours of the Harem are of great interest to tourists.

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2014

I spent almost 2 hours at Topkapi palace and loved every minute of it. the views are beautiful and feeling the history is so nice. great architecture. Just don't like the part that you have to pay extra 15 tl to go in the harem section. but never mind it was fantastic.

“Stunning views from historic Sultan's palace”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2014

Although the entrance was 25 lira, this still works out at cheaper than entrance to many historic palaces in Britain and there was such a lot to see! Stunning architecture and great views of the Bosphorus. It's worth paying extra as well to see the harem.

“Amazing Place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2014

Definitely rent the guide headsets. It is well worth the money. Also, don't forget to visit the Harem if you bought the extra ticket. We thought we had and discovered afterward that we had missed it. They wouldn't let us back in without buying a new ticket to the Palace (shame on them), although they did refund our money for the Harem portion. Try to go on a sunny day. We went in the cold rain and it was relatively miserable. However, the Karokol restaurant and the Four Seasons Bar were welcome respites during the day.

“Massive! but very elegant.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2014

Massive! but very elegant. Lovely gems and treasures in the rooms.
Shows off Ottoman lifestyle.
Was very busy but worth it and you can find your own space in the gardens.
Central to other attractions.
Closed on Mondays.
Do the Harem and Palace for 50TL each.
