Owner description: This enormous palace was the Imperial residence of Ottoman sultans for almost 400 years. Although much of the palace is not accessible, the daily tours of the Harem are of great interest to tourists.

“Back in time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

The palace is spread out so be sure to walk a lot. In august the heat is too much .make sure to carry water bottles. We did manage to see the big rock - diamond. It was sparkling. Then we went to the museum where prophet moses belonging are kept along with prophet mohammad. Was very touching to see the belongings.

“Great Historical Palace”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

Its an imperial residence of Ottoman Sultans exhibiting Treasury sections,Chinese porcelain,Weapons,Calligraphy sections,Armoury,Jwellaries,Diamonds.Everything is classic.A view of Bosphous from the terraces of buildings is photogenic. The surrounding area is huge and walking is enjoyable. There are big shaddy trees to relax if you are tired.Cofee, tea ,cold drinks in the intervals is refreshing. One must see this place and devote at least 4-5 hours to fully enjoy it.Its like a picnic on holiday.Must not miss in istanbul.

“A "must visit"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

Topkapi should be on every tourist's hit list in Istanbul. Amazing architecture and even more amazing and brutally honest history of those who lived in the palace. This is how it's done!

“A must”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013

seem to be in a different dimension, we love in particular the pavillons, the colours and the fantastic view of the Bhosforus. We were tired from our previous trip but in this place you can easily find a peacefull moment seat in the garden or inside a pavillon.
