Owner description: This enormous palace was the Imperial residence of Ottoman sultans for almost 400 years. Although much of the palace is not accessible, the daily tours of the Harem are of great interest to tourists.

Spent almost 6 full hours touring this wonderful palace and could have happily stayed longer but my feet gave out. This palace is located on beautiful tree filled grounds filled with benches for resting as you walk through the many buildings filled with history - beautiful artifacts, fantastic jewels, mosaics, costumes - everything you can imagine in an Ottoman Palace. Enjoy!

You must see it. It is one of the most amazing historic places that I have visited. Plan at least 3 hours to visit. Longer if you want to really enjoy it and have a super expensive coffee (11 TL) at the restaurant in the palace. The view however is marvelous. Here you will find priceless famous pieces of religion and history.

Its part of great history and the most ataractive part of it is the Islamic historical collections. The palace is wide and worth visiting.

It was very handy to buy the entrance tickets in on of the vending machines by the main gates in stead of queuing. The palace itself is nice, nothing spectacular though. The most interesting part is certainly Harem. But be aware that you will have to pay extra 15 TL to enter Harem . Do not forget to visit the museum shop that offers a reasonable choice of books on Turkish history, culture and arts.

The islamic relics and the harem are the main attractions. An audio guide is a must. Better to get tickets online as you can avoid the long queue. Its better to be with a guide to get a much clearer picture about the rooms and activities in the palace. the palace kitchens were closed for some rennovations. If you are on your own it will take a whole day. The treasury section looked spectacular too
