This Spice Market is worth a visit, with its colourful stands. There are carpet, souvenirs and spice stands with all one can ask for. Note that they are charging foreigners way over the real price, so do not forget to bargain for a good price. Great fun.

On our ferry trip back from Kadikoy we set about to look for the Spice Bazaar. This was packed with people, on Sundays the Grand Bazaar is closed, so our guess it was busy due to that fact. Lots of pleasant smells. Vendors don't hassle you half as much as at the Geand Bazaar. We bought Turkish delight and apple tea at Malatya Pazari, the staff were very helpful and the service was excellent. Prices were very good.

We almost didn't get there and that would have been a shame. We went on a Saturday when all the locals were shopping. It is one of the most colourful displays of spices and other goods that we have ever seen. The shops inside the covered area have beautifully displayed goods, concentrating on spices and sweetmeats including tonnes of Turkish delight.

t was so crowded that it was almost impossible to move cross traffic and so we had to go up one side and down the other, even though the distance between shops is only 5 metres. Prices in side the covered area are a bit higher than the stall s outside.

We wandered away from the Bazaar into the back streets where the locals do their real shopping and there were streets and streets of wonderful little place that caught the eye and the imagination.

This was one of the best experiences we have had in all of our travels, highly recomended
