Owner description: This architectural marvel displays 30 million gold tiles throughout its interior, and a wide, flat dome which was a bold engineering feat at the time it was constructed in the 6th century.

The architecture is impressive, but the interior is stripped of most of it's old decoration and what remains is dirty and in poor condition. Some of the better parts have been screened off for renovation too. Poor for the entry fee of 30 lira.

it is another old building and worth to have a look.
The line in front of the entrance is a pain for all tourists, you will be constantly molasted by guides.

This is probably one of the best looking church's I have seen and was definitely worth visiting. Very cool architecture and soaring sealings. The detail is astounding.

Should be one of the top places to see in Turkey!

i have visited this place, first of all there is not a good guiding system, just some small words that you can understand completely, and the second problem that they are working in a big part of the mosque for repairing walls or other parts so you cant see all of it

What a gorgeous place! Thankfully, many of the frescos are still available to view in this excellent historic site. We enjoyed the tour here, as well as the domes, ceilings and lights. It is amazing to consider that this was built in just 5 years by 10,000 captives (aka slaves).
