“GORGEOUS”
Reviewed December 14, 2013

The Ayasofya was by far one of my favourite attractions in Istanbul. There is so much history of Christianity and Islam and the restoration is incredible. Pictures do not do it justice.
Beautiful attraction, I cannot wait to visit again!

“Two religions meet”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

There is an eery feeling in this building, a place where one can feel that there has been alot of blood shed. The ongoing restorations are amazing. When you first enter, head straight up to the top of the building for fantastic views of the lower floor and an appreciation of the size of this church. Definately worth exploring!

“A wonder to behold”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

This is by far the most spectacular man-made structure that I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot (35+ countries incl. St.Peter's, Taj Mahal, Machu-Picchu etc.) And to think that it was built in the 3rd Century AD!
In the last few years we have looked at the Muslim world as the harbinger of intolerance, bigotry, hatred and violence - but here is an example of a former church-turned- mosque, peacefully converted back into a museum by the government of a Muslim country.

Really interesting history in this mosque. I liked the Christian elements inside it. Worth a visit, like everything in SultanAhmet area.
