“Lines too long, price too high”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

Even though we went up and down of Istanbul, we decided not to go into aya Sofia mosque/museum.
For sly it was way to crowded, with lines looong.... Secondly, price too expensive to see something you could see in any other mosque there for free.
Lower price would be much more welcomed and affordable, even for big travelers like us.

“must see”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

this was an amazing experience to go here, you really are able to see the great art work when hagia sophia was a church and when they converted it to a Masjid (mosque, which is what a lot of people know it as but proper word is Masjid) I will let you know that you should defiantly purchase your tickets in advance because a good portion of your day will be stuck on lines

Go there and wait in the line to get in - it's one of the must see in this city. But it's not magic nor impressing because dark inside.

“Beautiful & Impressive”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

Just as everyone else said this is a not to be missed sight in Istanbul. Read a little about its history before you go to get a better idea of its significance. Ignore the netting and scaffolding. We were here 12 years ago and the same construction material is in place. At T.A. suggestion we bought tickets on line from the US (which is easy to do) however, when we arrived on a Wednesday afternoon in early August, there were no lines at the ticket booth. There are 2 good restaurants nearby and a fine hotel within walking distance. Eresin Crown - see my review.

“ımpressive ...”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

beatiful mozaics and great dome ,built by Byzantines but converted to a mosque by Ottomans after the fall of Constantinople. Amazing artitechture and very unique dome in size. 6th century Isidorus and Antemius building. Upper gallery is the most impressive part.
