The Ayasofya is just incredible.
So beautiful, so majestc and has a mystic atmosphere in it that made the visit magical. Both my boyfriend and I loved it, I think this is the best sightseing in Istanul. Better than anything else here.
Truly beautiful, it is a necessay stop for anybody visiting Istanbul.

This was my favorite place to visit in Istanbul, we rented an audioguide here to give us more detail about all the important points. I think it's one of the most expansive and detailed museums we visited in Istanbul-- absolutely gorgeous. However, be aware that climate control is not maintained until a lot of European museums so the temperature inside will reflect that of the outside air.

Up there as far as price is concerned (TL25) but worth it despite the crowds.
You are allowed pretty full access - make sure you see the upper storey, the gallery, as it gives not only great views but holds some old mosaics, a marble door and a Venetian's tomb (Dandolo) as well as having a couple of windows with nice views out to the Blue Mosque.
Downstairs there is plenty to see and loads of great photo ops. Fewer people would be nice, but good luck with that..

This was my favorite place to visit in Istanbul. Simply breathtaking. Don't go on Tuesdays, very crowded that day for some reason. Any other time, the line isn't bad.
