Owner description: This architectural marvel displays 30 million gold tiles throughout its interior, and a wide, flat dome which was a bold engineering feat at the time it was constructed in the 6th century.

A very impressive interior in one of the oldest buildings. Out front there were some agressive "tour guides" trying to sell themselves for a private tour, but we enjoyed walking through on our own and simply reading the English language signs which were all around, describing the aspects of the building.

I have never seen something so beautiful as the Hagia Sopia, the building the interior. Wow! This is really a must see if you ever visit Istanbul.

The travel guides outline but understate the striking beauty and size of this building. I was struck by the christian past in harmony with islamic makeover.

Words fail me, it is missing most of it's interior decoration but what remains shows how stunning it must have been. The dome is amazing just by itself - must see, don't let a queue put you off.

Very crowded later in day - long queues to get in, but worth the wait - make sure you have a guide for this museum.
