We were a bit early for entry after prayers so went to listen to a free lecture on Islam and the Blue mosque in a hall adjacent, the young lady who delivered it was brill and very good at explaining islamic culture and practice . The visit to the mosque was great stunning inside surprised that photography is allowed , and don't worry if you are not properly dressed as there are items for both men and women to cover up. Beware the carpet and stall holders will "assist" you on the understanding that you will then visit their shop ... and they wait patiently outside for you .... although not pushy at all very friendly

Quite amazing and worth the visit. Tours are very accommodating and organized. Be prepared to cover your heads (ladies) and gentlemen remove your hats. Also, cover your legs if you wear shorts. Covering is provided as well as plastic bags to carry your shoes.

Smaller than Sophia, but more symmetrical in shape, the Blue Mosque is stunning from the outside. Inside the architecture will amaze.

One suggestion is to wait outside between the 3 mosques, and when the Azan begins, you can hear each distinct prayer. They will wait for their "turn", never competing with the neighbors prayer. Feels like surround sound.... Amazing to experience!

This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful structures on earth. Do not miss it. Remember to dress respectfully/appropriately and you will be heartily welcomed into this amazing building.

1 of many mosques that is free to enter. It´s hard to take good pictures in it tough cause there is hundreds of steel wires hanging from the ceiling and holding the chandeliers.
It´s quickly gone through if you wan´t to see how a mosque is built and used.
