Our tour group selected this hotel, and we couldn't have been happier. Rooms were beautiful and super clean. The lobby is glamorous. Location is very convenient to the big shopping street in the new city and easy to get to public transportation to get over to the old city. Our tour took us by bus to most places, but during our week we had several periods where we could be on our own. You really get to know the city when you take public transportation and the staff was most helpful in providing us with instructions. The review from Dan T covers what I would want to say. I might add, that the hotel has an excellent exercise room. The spa was good, but I think I should have gone outside the hotel for a true "Turkish Bath". Free internet is available in the lobby, or for a modest charge you can have it in your room. Lobby was fine for checking email. When we return to Istanbul, we will stay there again.

Room Tip: The hotel has three buildings for rooms. We were in building #3 overlooking the garden of the British Consulate building. Make sure you specify no-smoking. It seems everyone in Turkey smokes.

I can't think of a single complaint I could give you about this hotel. The staff is amazing and helpful at every turn - my hair dryer broke and it was replaced in a second. The concierge was extremely helpful in recommending restaurants and getting us tickets to see the Whirling Dervishes on the day of. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the breakfast room has amazing views overlooking the Golden Horn - you can even sit outside if the weather is nice. I heard from everyone that the spa is amazing although I did not use it myself. Oh and the rooms! Absolutely gorgeous wooden floors, rugs, and decorations, not to mention beds that were actually quite comfortable. We also ate at both the indoor restaurant and open-air patio restaurant and had nothing but great food and service. Lastly, the proximity to Istiklal Caddessi (the major walking boulevard through the new town) was a major plus. I'm not sure I've ever stayed at a better hotel - I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Room Tip: It can get a bit noisy on the weekends, so the higher up your room is the better - I was on the fifth floor and barely heard the weekend revelers.

My wife & I recently spent a week in Istanbul at the Rixos Pera Hotel. It is a first rate facility. The hotel itself is well located, within easy walking distance of a multitude of restaurants, Istiklal Cadessi - the extensive & exciting pedestrian street, and public transportation. An ATM and a convenience store are just outside of the entrance. The room was attractively furnished and quiet with good temperature control, a very nice bathroom & shower, good quality linens & pillows and complimentary bottled water – a necessity in Istanbul. Their buffet breakfast was excellent with something for everyone’s taste; and we had a delicious dinner at the on-site Jack Russell restaurant. And, the staff was friendly and helpful, particularly the Concierge, who gave good advice on everything from restaurants to ferry schedules. The only negative was a lack of drawer space in the room; but, we felt that was a minor inconvenience. All in all, it was a wonderful retreat to return to after the strenuous days exploring this incredible city.

Stayed a week at Rixos Pera Istanbul. Location in new part of city is great for access to shopping/restaurants/Istiklal Street and connections to trams etc. Very welcoming friendly staff, eager to please. Nice rooms, not just your average hotel room. Very clean rooms, bathrooms, lobby etc. Good extensive breakfast, multiple places to eat.

Room Tip: Have to balance view (in front can hear 5 am call to prayer too well) vs rear (quiet, just have to keep windows closed; has excellent air conditioning anyway)

Arrived hotel after long hot journey and doormen and staff very efficient and polite in making check in painless. Room on higher floor with very nice contemporay furnishings and good bathroom. The room is full equipped and very comfortable for extended stays. I used the Spa and gym for work outs and massges/hammans. The resuarants on the roof and courtyard are vey good with large choice of meals and selections of drinks. Breakfast is a bit choatic at the peak times but go early and there is an ample selection to satisfy everyone's palate. The hotel is very central and a 2 minute walk to main shopping precincts and traditional Turkish restaurants. There is a Caffe Nero within 1 minute for those who miss that! all in all a very good elegant hotel and complimented by its very friendly staff.

Room Tip: Try to reserve the highest floors for best view of city. The lower floors do get street noise from taxis and saturday soccer matches.
