i stayed with friends for a week in metin han hotel and our room was cleaned every day.. it was not a big hotel but what do you need in Istanbul? You can walk in 3/5 minutes to the tram and u have enough place to visit around the hotel.

The owner (Aziz) was very friendly and he helped us with all things! He answered all our questions and if we have problems we could disturb him always.

I can recommend everybody this hotel.

The location was not ideal, in the middle of the shoe making district near the grand bazaar and is in the wrong place on google maps...about half a mile out..and it is just a few rooms to rent with a tiny office/kitchen on the top floor. Once inside the rooms were clean enough but my advice is to find somewhere else to stay.

Room Tip: My advice is to find somewhere else!

Reading the reviwes I was full of joy, but ... mistake. The first major problem was to find the location, after 1 hour of searching I did phone them and wait to pick us up. The area is a very crowded, noisy and unsafe type, with shoes factory, goods to sell on the street etc. After 10 minutes a young guy appear and show us the way to Hotel. Then I understand way we can`t find them: is not a Hotel, it was a small mettalic door (with a broken glass) between 2 buildings. The hotel is like 2 meters wide, no reception, only a spiral stair. noisy, dirty etc. On top- a terrace with a dirty kitcen, the view is on a wall, or on the street, you can see shoes factory, and how they acctually make shoes. The only good think was that the owner did see our reaction and accept not to charge credit card, we were terrified. Please note that we are the type who did stay on 2 or 5 stars too, but that was like horror. I also want to notice everibody that many reviews must be written by them, is impossible to read "good hotel, nice stuff etc" when is terrible and is not a hotel, just some rooms for rent. We finally escape the nighmare and find another Hotel, a real one.
Hope for you not to have this kind of experience.

Room Tip: keep looking, anything else is better

We had a really nice time at the hotel. Aziz and Zeki were very friendly and helpful. They help you with all the questions you might have to explore the city. They also know a great place to smoke the waterpipe! The rooms were clean and the breakfast was very tasty. The shoe factories in the street of the hotel give you a genuine taste of the city. The location of the hotel is excellent: it is within walking distance of the major sites.

The hotel is within easy walking distance of most of the major historical sites. The Metro line and station is within 100 metres. It is just few minutes walk to Blue Mosque and also very close to Grand Bazar. The rooms are big, fairly comfortable and very clean. There are lots of good and well priced restaurants within close proximity. Finally, all the staff I met were friendly and extremely helpful. I would definitely stay there again should I ever visit Istanbul again.

Room Tip: I had a large room for a standart double but i think all room size same
