“Beautiful apartment in an awesome city!!”

We spent our honeymoon in Istanbul and the Azure 4 Apartment. It was even more beautiful than we expected, plus it was very clean and the landlord (Serdal) was super nice and helpful. We felt like we were in heaven. The leaflet with Information about sites, restaurants and bars helped us getting around in the lively neighbourhood. Thanks to the washer/dryer in the bathroom, this was the first trip we came home with only clean cloth in our bags. Altogether, it was a great apartment with a great service and we'll be back...

PS: If you are a worried person, the apartment is the place to stay because the massive door with the two locks makes the apartment more secure than an average bank vault :-)

“Adorable, clean, comfortable, well-located”

Istanbul is a confusing place, but it really helps to have a comfortable place to return to every evening. I have absolutely no complaints about this gorgeous apartment. It looks light-filled in the photo, and it is. It has everything you could want and then some: air conditioning that works, washer and dryer, compact but well-appointed kitchen, queen bed AND modular couch that could probably convert into two more beds.

A couple of things to be aware of: this apartment is on the 3rd floor (American) with no elevator, so you have two flights of stairs to climb to get to the apartment. The stairs have no railing, so carry small children rather than letting them climb.

Also, the bedroom looks tiny in the photo, and it is; the bed literally fills the room (there are small ventilated raised panels on either side of it) and you have to climb in from the foot of the bed. The door doesn't even open all the way. One nice thing I found out by accident, though, is that one of the switches in the bedroom operates a motion-activated night light on the floor at the foot of the bed, so if you get up in the middle of the night, you might disturb your partner trying to shuffle your butt to the end of the bed, but at least you'll have light as soon as you put your foot on the floor!

The neighborhood is not touristy at all; it's centered around a small mosque square that functions as a landmark so you can get your bearings. Everything you could need is right in the area: 2 small supermarkets (I recommend the Carrefour), a pastry shop, hardware stores, used and new clothing boutiques, liquor stores, drugstores, etc.--even an Italian gelato place! Taksim Square is about 7-8 blocks away and up a small hill; the Galata Tower is about as far away. The main tourist area (Sultanahmet, with the Hagia Sophia and other attractions) is across the Golden Horn, the waterway that divides the European side of the city, but still walkable if you have some extra time and don't mind crossing the Galata Bridge.

This apartment gave me the peace and relaxation I really wanted from my vacation, and really needed after 10 days on a busy tour in other parts of Turkey. I would stay here again!

“Comfortable,clean, and convenient”
Reviewed September 14, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

We stayed here August 24th through the 28th. Our flat was on the 2nd level of the building. It really is just as pictured which is often not the case with hotels for example. It was very, very clean (and I'm so nitpicky about this). The bed was really comfortable as well. Not sure I was just so tired from all of the walking in Istanbul but I always slept through the night with no problems. The street it is on is close enough to the action but far away enough that outside noise is no problem at all. The bedroom is small but you don't need much more space than that anyway. It does have a wardrobe so that you don't have to live out of your suitcase. The living room was great and comfortable with A/C available. The bathroom is contemporary with a washer AND dryer. The only problem I had in the bathroom was that the shower water doesn't drain properly but this wasn't much of an inconvenience.

The flat is located in a great area of Istanbul, Beyoglu. Make sure to explore it as there are lots of restaurants and cute shops in the area. It was also a 5 to 7 min walk to the tram which takes you directly into the center of the old town and to all of the main historical attractions. We barely used a taxi for this reason. It was just so convenient.

We were warmly welcomed and given a booklet with really useful information about Istanbul. We were told that hospitality is a great Turkish quality and we really felt we received it here. Our host even told us to call him if we needed help with anything (which we did) and he was so helpful.

The building was very, very secure as well. Good bolts on the doors, never felt unsafe.

My only tip for people staying here is to make sure to have the properties' address clearly written but also maybe a name of something in the area. When we took taxis a couple of times we had to say to the taxi drivers to take us to the Italian Hospital which is near the property because they never seemed to recognize the street we had written down.

“Beautiful apartment; great location and neighborhood”

Good wi-fi; nicely appointed, well furnished, comfortable apartment. Sleeps 2 or 3. Convenient location for Istikal Street and Taksim Square. Good neighborhood restaurants. Steep walk up from Tophane tram stop. Coming home in the evenings, we usually took the tram to the last stop, and then took the funicular up to Taksim and walked down. In the morning, the walk down to Tophane took about 10-12 minutes, but was easy once we had done it once. Because of all the one-way streets, taxis might have a tough time locating and getting to the exact street, but can easily get to within a street or two. Very quick tram ride to Sultanhamet and all the usual tourist sites. Kadir and Serdal, (owner/managers) are very welcoming and helpful.

“Great Apartment”

For a daily rate that is equal to or less than a standard hotel room in some other part of town, this apartment is a great deal. The apartment itself is clean, modern, and in a quiet section of the neighborhood. Convenient location, as everything is walking distance away - granted, it's one hell of a walk coming up the hill from the Tophane train station, but after a few days you almost get used to it... The apartment manager and staff are kind and helpful. Staying here felt like being a local, as it has a really friendly neighborhood vibe. All in all, I'd definitely stay here again.
