“Best Falafel in İstanbul!”
Reviewed August 4, 2011

Forget about House cafe or similar places where you pay a nonsense amount of money for a falafel that is just below average. This is your hummus and falafel place!
It is a very down to earth place, and the food is to die for. I Think the owner is Palestinian, and his kids are running the place.

“Great food and great service in a small casual and relaxed cafe”
Reviewed May 4, 2011

Saw this place was listed by New York Times travel section and read a blog on "this is my Istanbul" and decided to check it out. If you're in the mood for some excellent middle eastern food in a relaxed, friendly, no frills, clean, cafe style setting, step into Falafal House around Taksim square. You can sit inside or out, dine in or carry out. Food is great and the staff is very attentive. Opened by a Palestinian gentleman a few years ago who takes great pride in the freshness of the food, the service and the customers experience. The food is really FRESH. The falafal was very good but the lamb kebabs were my favorite - they were absolutely excellent. I am ready to go back for more. The owner walks around constantly to make sure that everyone is ok. When he observed me eating the spicy sauce, without my asking, he brought me some hot peppers and pickles he thought I would like. Checked in with me to make sure I was enjoying the food. He staff is great but he stays on sight to oversees every aspect of the business at all times. Great for lunch, quick bite or casual dinner. Easy to find - from Taksim square, look for the Simit Sarayi and Yapı ve Kredi bank on Tarlabasi (across from McDonalds), turn into the street between the 2 businesses and you'll see the cafe about a block down on the left.
