“3 Nights in Taya Hatun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2012

We stayed at the Taya Hatun hotel for three nights in mid Feb 2012 and had a great stay. We were welcomed to the hotel with tea and biscuits while we checked in and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The rooms are not large but very clean and they're certainly big enough for a few days stay. The shower in the bathroom was excellent, very powerful and lots of hot water. The breakfast was good with a selection of cold meats, some cereals, bread, Turkish foods, yoghurts and a small selection of hot foods such as omelettes, chips and spicy sausage. The hotel's location is good and is only a 5-10 min walk to all the sights such as Topkapi Palace and the blue Mosque etc... There is a selection of restaurants in the surrounding area and the staff on the front desk were happy to point us in the right direction! We'd definitely be happy staying here again were we to return to Istanbul.

Room service is good, interiors are tasteful and cleanliness is maintained. Mohammad at the front desk is a friendly helpful guy and we felt right at home! Rooms are a bit small but facilities are good. Location is excellent as the Blue Mosque and Haghia Sophia are at walking distance of 5 minutes. Overall a wonderful experience.

This was my third visit to Istanbul and, although I can't complain about the other places I stayed in, I have to say that this hotel was the accommodation I enjoyed the most!

I hadn't heard before about this place but, after reading the good comments they got in other websites, I decided to give it a try and booked three nights there.

It's centrally located, just in front of the walls of the Topkapı Palace and the Gülhane Park, and there's an easy five-minute walk from Gülhane tram stop. It's situated in a street full of souvenir shops but it doesn't get overcrowded at any time of the day, so it's quite quiet and a peaceful sleep is guaranteed.

We arrived at 5 pm and we were welcomed by a very friendly man (whose name I unfortunately didn't catch) who showed us around, took our bags to our room and gave us some useful information about the area.

The room was a bit small but we weren't thinking about spending much time in there (If you do, you're wasting your time in Istanbul). It was spotlessly clean and the beds were incredibly comfortable. I'm still amazed that I slept so well during my whole stay.

Breakfast is served every morning in the small restaurant by the main entrance and it's full of typical Turkish delicatessen. Black tea, olives, pieces of 'simit' (sesame bread), great yoghurt with honey(A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!)... But, best of all, the lady in charge of the restaurant. Even though she didn't seem to speak a single word of English, she was always smiling and trying to help costumers. She even recommended me what to spread over my 'simit'.

It was my first visit to turkey, and i stayed there for a week. Taya Hatun is the place were you feel you are home.
Rooms are exactly what you need, very clean very organized and warm as well.
The people there are very friendly and they take care of there guests to a great extent.
With a wonderful location in the middle of the historical area, and just a couple of blocks away from the tram station, you simply wont find it hard to go anywhere.
On My next visit to Istanbul this is definitely where i will be staying.
Thanks Taya Hatun team :).

Recently stayed at this hotel after looking at reviews on booking.com and it did not disappoint.
This hotel has 10 rooms all of which are of good size. the room has all you need, lots of room, bathroom amenities, good TV, fridge, desk but best of all it is large for Istanbul, plenty of room to put your luggage.
The staff are friendly and helpful, anything you need they are more than happy to do for you- after an incident in Istanbul they were more worried that we were OK than the incident itself
Breakfast was good, large selection at the buffet and fresh which is important.
The location is great, a little hard to find if you dont have proper directions but once you are there its fantastic, half way between the two best districts, you can find yourself on the water front or in the middle of sultanahmet within 5 minutes.
definitely great value for money
