Annually reviewed as one of the best kabob places in Istanbul, Sehzade in Sirkeci (two tram stops from Sultanahmet) has delicious Cag Kabab plates or wraps for 14 Lira.

Delicious grilled lamb, with a fresh kebab prepared every day. The menu is short and simple, and the same can be said for the food. I'd suggest going there no later than early afternoon, as once the kebab has been finished, that's it. Friendly service too, and no pressure to move on despite it being a busy place.

Dropped lucky here; the friendly, bustling head waiter and the eager, rapid turnaround clientele tempted us in and we were handed a laminated fixed menu. Spicy red lentil soup and salad to start. The lamb kebabs are possibly the best I've ever had; succulent mountain lamb and herbs - absolutely delicious! Also a deep dish of home made yoghurt was cool and tasty with walnut baklava and black tea to finish. Cheap too. Definitely a return visit to be made!

The kebab is good, but the soup is delicious! The service is also quick and agreeable. There is a slight tendency to offer you dishes you were not asking for but nothing too pushy. Your not quite sure how they come to the total cost but I figured it must be the tip already included
I recommend a meal when out visiting the old heart of Istanbul.

This apparently no-thrills restaurant is somewhat pretentious (because the newspaper articles where it is mentioned are printed and serve as towel for all tables), but as soon as you have the first bite of your kebab it will become clear why. This kebab is done on a horizontal stick in order to maintain the juiciness of the meat and I personally felt the difference: the meat was delicious, juicy, and had just the right amount of spices.

A meal for 2 (2 kebab, 2 side orders: salad and chilli, 2 bottles of water and 2 cups of Turkish tea) costed us 40 TL and I can honestly say it was the best value-for-money meal we had in Instambul. If you like Kebab, make sure you make a stop here! A good reference point is the Sirkeci metro station.
