“Tour guide Esra Canturk will be your best friend in Istanbul.”
Reviewed October 19, 2011

We just returned from a trip to Greece and Istanbul and hired Esra to help us make use of our limited time in the city. Esra was highly recommended to me by a woman who had used her for a large group of about 20 people. We had easy communications with her via email prior to the trip. We decided to hire her for two days, but she also met us on arrival at the hotel (on her own time) to help plan for our next days and get us started that day on our own.
Esra met us again in the lobby on our tour days with enthusiasm and a wealth of knowledge. She has been doing tours for 19 years, so she is very experienced and connected in the industry. She knew how to manuver the long lines at Topkapi Palace to save us time and get in to see the most important things first. (worth the price alone!) In addition with the two days we also saw The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, The Grand Bazaar (she knows the places to go), the Spice Market, a rug dealer, a tour on the Bosphorus Straits, the new area of Taksim and various stops along the way of interest.
Her price was about $150 per day....such a deal for her expertise. Her English is excellent and she also speaks Spanish. If we were to go to Istanbul again, I would be sure to use Esra and reconnect with a great person.

“Highly recommended guide for walking tour of Istanbul”
Reviewed October 7, 2011

We just recently returned from Istanbul. Our guide for a walking tour was the best. He was knowledgeable and went out of his way to do and see anything. We asked to go to a local lunch and what a fun time eating salt encrusted grouper. We saw all the usual sights and had excellent historical background. He is Numan Tasdogan. Email at numantasdogan@ hotmail.com. You will be very happy with his work. Linda

“Ozcan Bicer or his Brother---Great Tour guides!”
Reviewed September 12, 2011

I booked a day tour with Ozcan, but he became ill and sent his brother whose name I have totally forgotten! He was fantastic. At first I was a little upset because I heard so many great things about Oskan--but as soon as we were underway my fears subsided. He was an exemplary tour guide--pleasant, polite, and informative. It was Ramadan and he did not eat or drink the whole day as is his observance until 8:15 at night when the fast is broken with family. We hung out every night at the break fast festival in front of the Blue Mosque every night--it was so much fun! The Muslims we met were so open and welcoming and happy--it was a breath of fresh air in a problem filled world.

We saw Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Bosphorus Bridge and stood in the Asian side of Istanbul. We ate in a recommended place by our guide and he helped us order, paid for our lunch and didn't eat or drink a thing himself! We felt so bad, but we understood and he kept saying it was no problem at all.

We couldn't have asked for a better day of culture and history in Istanbul.

I highly recommend these tour guides. Their email is info@constantinople.com--Ozkan Bicer or his brother. (so sorry I can't remember his name)
