The Mari Time hotel is by far the best choice hotel that you can choose for your stay in the Sultanahmet in Istanbul, if you want to see all the Mosques and Museums. We stayed 10th September for 5 nights. We were greeted with a welcome drink at reception and then our luggage was taken to our room. The room was on the second floor with a view onto the back of gardens. The room was very clean, and had good selection of free tea and coffee, also there was a mini bar with drinks in it and a price list for this. There was an excellent en-suite with toiletries and clean towels. The room was cleaned and the towels changed every day and the room re- stocked each day. There was enough room for your clothes and there was a desk and phoneline. The wall lights did not work but were not a problem for us. The hotel is on a bed and breakfast basis. Breakfast was excellent. There was a great choice and each day we went down to breakfast, there would be another different surprise that awaited us. Cakes, cookies or eggs or breads. There was orange and fruit type squash, tea and coffee, olives, meats, cheeses, all sorts of vegetable dishes, cereals, sausage in pastry, potato dishes, the list goes on, You could have as much as you wanted to eat. It was enough to last a whole day. If you wanted other meals or something else to eat at any other time, they would go out of their way to get it for you. If you wanted or needed anything in the hotel, they would try and help you. The reception staff spoke very good English and could advise you on any where to visit, eat or things to do.They gave us a map of the area with all the sites on it. All the staff were very polite and helpful. The Hotel was in a quiet street and there was a small shop opposite. The Hotel is only 10 minutes walk from most of the sites. It is only a 5 minute walk to the sea front so if you want to run in the mornings it is the perfect location for that too. There are some great little cafe and restaurants 5 minutes away. You can see the Marmara Sea and the Blue Mosque from the roof terrace, but the sounds of the city cannot be heard. The location is very quiet and the Sultanahmet is very green and peaceful. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, it really could not be faulted by us. The Mari Time Hotel was like you were staying in someone's home as they were so friendly.
