At first, i loved the pictures online. İt was actually way better in reality. Loved the quality of everything, the decor is very tasteful. spacious room and suite. Loved the ease of communicating with the manager/owner before and during my visit. There was a comment somewhere that the area aroundthe hotel wasnt all that, but its realy a very clean, quite area. İ loved it. The location is perfect: 5 minutes to tram, tunel, galata bridge. The reception staff are extremely helpful, polite and friendly. The one thing to improve is room service: and i dint have a chance to share this with the manager : they rearranged my stuff everyday and looked like they threw my clothes innthe closet, that was very annoying. onnmy first day, there were 2 Bathrobes and slippers that just disappeared from the rm after 1st day. İ was determined to enjoy my stay and decided tonignore them, but i honestly think that this hotel is too perfect to have a rm cleaning service like that. Lovvvvved the Karakoy rms.

The hotel is situated near the Galata Bridge on the north side of the Golden Horn inlet. The area is relatively quiet but with easy access to all the main sites of old Istanbul (it is easy to take a tram - or walk - across the bridge to visit the Blue Mosque and other sites). The Karakoy area is good for restaurants, including the one belonging to the hotel (Karakoy Lokantasi).

We had room 7 which is a described as a studio and is huge. It has a well-appointed kitchen (we didn't use this except for making tea) and a vast and very comfortable double bed. There are views across the Bosphorus. The room had air-conditioning.

The hotel is small (only 9 rooms I think) and just has a front desk and no public rooms apart from the adjoining associated restaurant. However it is very friendly, stylish and extremely well managed with an attention to detail. We were supplied with complimentary bathrobes, slippers and various toiletries in the bathroom. We were also presented with complimentary fresh fruit and daily bottled water in the fridge.

The breakfast in the restaurant next door was wonderful and not to be missed. It included fresh orange juice, a choice of breads, fresh fruit, olives, cheeses, salami, pastries and the best coffee you can get.

We intend to return!

Nothing at all to complain about! The rooms are fabulous. Very clean and very spacious. Perfect location as its close to all the sights and only a couple of minutes walk to tram station. Would definitely come back to stay here. Great restaurant next door!!

We had a sensational 5 night stay at Karakoy Rooms and did not want to leave when it was over. The rooms are spacious and beautifully styled, the attention to detail is spot-on. The room had so much space it felt like an apartment, I just wish my apartment looked this good! The location was perfect, close enough to access the bustle of Sultanahmet easily, but blissfully free from the tourist hustle that goes with that area. Karakoy rooms is walking distance (or via the tunnel train) to Taksim and it's easy to explore Beyoglu and surrounding areas on foot. It's also close to public transport and a 2 minute walk from the ferry to the Asian side (Kadikoy). Do try the restaurant downstairs, the food was great for dinner and breakfast (we would have tried lunch too if we'd had longer). The staff were warm and helpful. I can't recommend Karakoy Rooms highly enough. I'd come back to Istanbul just to stay here.

Room Tip: The rooms on upper levels have views.

Very nice, new hotel, with spacious rooms, some with sea view. Must say it is one of the best hotels in Istanbul, which i stayed in more than 20 hotels in it throughout the last six years, The location is excellent very near to the old City, Taksim( by Tunnel train), can be reached by tram, ferry, and not so crowded with cars if you want to use Taxi.
The rooms are new, large and fresh, with wooden floors, LED TV, antique radiators and copper pipes for electrical wires, very cool designed rooms.

Room Tip: Try to get rooms on the sixth floor, they are the highest sin the buidling and sea view is very nice...

As one of the previous contributors has noted, this is in fact an excellent restaurant (do eat there!) that also has nine rooms. The rooms have only recently been opened (2011?) and are very stylish in terms of design. The various pictures on their website accurately reflect how the rooms look. Our room #9 was spacious with a separate sitting and bedroom area. The main selling point of our room on the sixth floor was the amazing 90-degree view over the Bosporus river with a little balcony.

The location is as good as it gets. It is five minutes walk from the Galata bridge, which brings you to the old touristic part of town. On the other hand, you also have direct access to Beyoglu with its bars and restaurants (10 minutes taxi to Taksim was about 8TL). The immediate neighborhood itself is upcoming with a number of nice restaurants and the Istanbul Modern museum. It, however, does not have the cheapness and overflow of tourists as the Old Town and Beyoglu. It remains local and has charm.

The staff was very welcoming and reservations via email were easy and straight forward.

Room Tip: Room 9 on the sixth floor has probably the best views.
