“Excellent hotel and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 4, 2013

First, the location of this hotel is unbeatable. It is less than a minute walk to the Blue Mosque and Sultanhamet park, and only a little more to Hagia Sofia, and Topkapi palace. The location combined with the quality of the rooms, the very helpful and professional staff, the terrace and the breakfast make it the perfect place to stay. The staff and the manager were very helpful with all our questions, and anything we needed. The rooms were newly remodeled, very clean, comfortable & stylish. The bathroom was beautiful. The size of the rooms was fine, but a bit on the small side. We were very happy in our room for 6 nights. The sound insulated glass windows were a great addition, as it reduced the sound of the 5:00 A.M. call to pray at the Blue Mosque, which is practically next door. Breakfast is included in the price of the room, and was quite good. A wide variety of choices, and enough to keep us going for a big part of the day. The breakfast room was very clean and they keep the food carefully stocked through out the entire breakfast period. The roof terrace provides a spectacular view of the Blue Mosque, and a nice view of the Bosphorus and Hagia Sofia. The surrounding neighborhood was a nice place to walk around with many restaurant choices, little grocery stores, and places to shop. We could not have been happier.

This location is the best for Sultanahmet sighsteeing, we could get to all the main sights in a matter of minutes! The rooms are clean, seem recently refurbished and the shower is great! The staff are absolutely delightful and will do whatever they can to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Tasty Turkish breakfast.

We love our food so here a few recommendations we followed and were very pleased with:
- Buhara (excellent red meat, worth the reviews!)
- Asitane (great food, very nice concept and gives a flavour of history!)
- Mikla (innovative cuisine, a great twist on Turkish food)
- Ciya (take a ferryboat from Eminonou to Kadikoy and head for the old Market, excellent food!)
- Hafez Mustafa famous for sweets (on a corner visible from Sirkeci tramstop)

The Cemberlitas Hammam is perfectly fine for guys, for ladies the Hagia Sophia Hammam will probably be more refined and more than double the price of the Cemberlitas.

For travel on the Metro buy an Istanbul card (available at news stalls or anywhere with the sign 'Akbil') which can be loaded and used for multiple travellers and also useful to buy a Museumcard as it's good value and helps beat the queues.

In Museums do NOT rent the audio guide, they are absolutely useless both audibly and for their content, best read up on the history beforehand.

In the Grand Bazaar, things get cheaper the further in you go and you don't really get hassled at all. Best to have a bit of a plan of what you want to buy beforehand with a mental price 'benchmark' which is either from a mall or from an emotional value you set as the vendors typcially start at about 5x-10x the price you could get depending on the item....

Room Tip: We had rooms 504 & 505, 504 can take a third bed for children easily as we had one

Excellent location, in the historical center of Istanbul (and not too far from the places where you can go out and party). Clean and modern rooms, delicious breakfast and VERY friendly staff.

It's perfect if you're on a short city trip in Istanbul. Go for it.

There is literally not a closer hotel to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. It was probably a 45-second walk to both of them from our room.

The Aristocrat Hotel was great. The front desk workers were superb (thanks again for arranging our 2 a.m. shuttle from the airport!) and answered any questions we had, and helped us with taxis whenever they were necessary.

The hotel is pretty small, so be prepared to be relatively cramped in your room. However, the rooms themselves were very modern inside, and had great decor. The shower head mounted into the ceiling was a great plus.

For light sleepers, be aware, the call to prayer often happens at ungodly hours of the morning, and we were woken up a few times because of this, but ear plugs should help tremendously.

If you're looking for a great hotel right in the heart of all of the ancient attractions of Istanbul, I would highly recommend the Aristocrat.

If you want to stay in this part of town it would be hard to find a nicer place. The room was newly refurbished. A bit small but adequate. The staff was extremely professional and helpful. It was very comfortable and relaxing to stay here and so close to the major sights.

We stayed here for one night as our original hotel was overbooked and they put us at the Aristocrat for one night. The hotel is pretty new as I think it was either built or renovated like 2 years ago. We had a room on the ground floor and it was very clean and modern. The location of this hotel can not be beat as you are steps away from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia and all of Sultanhemet touristic restaurants. The hotel serves breakfast on the bottom floor and it's a pretty typical standard turkish hotel breakfast buffet with breads, cheeses, meats, Tea, Coffee. The hotel also has a nice terrace on the roof with a great view of the blue mosque. Overall, if you can get this hotel room for under $200 a night, and want to be close to all the major attractions in the old city in a nice and comfortable hotel, then i highly recommend The Aristocrat.

We loved this hotel for it's location and staff. They were very nice and helpful. They also provided several options, not just the most expensive. I would stay here again! The rooms are clean and comfortable.
