“Great location and value”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

Stayed for 3 nights while touring Turkey with my family. It was a relief to find an apartment in the middle of Istanbul where we could relax between sight seeing expeditions.
The apartment is above a small café. My first concerns that it might be too noisy to sleep. In reality it was no problem at all, the rooms are double glazed with air con.
The rooms were basic but very clean and tidy.
The location is excellent for sight seeing with many sights a few minutes walk away. The owner is very friendly and eager to please.
Breakfasts were a bit hit and miss with the owner working late in the café and not always ready for breakfast :)
All in all I would definitely recommend for a family looking to explore Istanbul on a budget.

We arrived at 6.30 from the airport, extremely tired, and the owner let us in and gave us one of his free rooms (the one he had allocated for us was taken, so he gave us another one).

All staff was very friendly and helpful, we had breakfast in the Duran Cafe downstairs. The breakfast was decent and on one occasion, the bread was so fresh it was still too hot to touch (that's a good thing).

Nice, central location, two minutes from the Metro, seven minutes from the harbour.

Thoroughly recommended.

This hotel has good parts and "not so good" parts.
What we loved:
- location - in the full heart of old city
- price - very decent price for such location
- friendly staff

Not so great:
- our kitchen had nothing but a sink and a small fridge :) - however, we didn't need to cook our meals, so it was OK for us; but be aware if you need microwave and dishes - you must request them before you arrive
- our window was 5 meters away from a Mosque - the calling to prayer will wake you at 4am; however this is an interesting experience and you will get used to it after a couple of nights :)

Room Tip: If you need to cook you meals, please ask an equipped kitchen
