“Nice room with an amazing view and friendly staff.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 5, 2012

We stayed at the Burckin Hotel in Mid September and loved it. The hotel room is very clean but small but the view from our balcony was breath taking and the location made up with for it. The AC and bathroom were all in good working order. You are 10 minutes or less walking distance from Agia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi palace and the Grand Bazzar… just to name a few places. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Arriving at night the first people we met at the hotel was manager Tuna and his assistance Brock. The night shift seem more polite and helpful then the day shift. I had a nice conversation and coffee with Tuna on our last night before we left. He is a very nice person and so was Brock. Without a doubt I will be staying here again on my next visit back to Istanbul.

Room Tip: We were on the 6th floor room 602. Other then the rooftop terrace I think our room had the best view...

This hotel is located in a good area, and is close to nice restaurants and bars. Don't expect to much of the hotel though. Its not bad, but not great either. Breakfast buffet is rather poor. Rooms are very small but clean. The hotel was really noisy from about 6:30am which was also problematic. The staff were generally quite pleasant, however, upon my exit when the manager asked me about my experience at the hotel I gave him honest feedback which he did not like at all. He became extremely aggressive and rude. Rude manager aside, In general not a bad option, but I felt it was somewhat over priced.

GOOD points about this hotel:
1) the location, which is at walking distance from Agya Sofia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi palace and next to the tram stop from where you can get to other neighborhoods of the city.
2)The cleanliness of the room: perfect.
3) The bathrooms: new, well cleaned and well equipped.
4)The staff at the reception, kind and helpful.

DOWNSIDES:
1)The room's size : some are small, some are VERY small (but then you can ask to the staff to move you in another one; just avoid the rooms at the first floor: you'll hear whatever happens at the reception.
2)The breakfast is quite bad: terrible coffee, lots of cheese (not great quality) , olives, tomatoes and cucumber but if you feel like something sweet you'll have only bread, honey and jam (but everything- at least in summer- served in a beautiful terrace with a breathtaking view).
3) In our room (103) the A/C was a bit noisy.

I would definitely come back (but this time, hopefully, in a room with a view!)

A beautiful hotel, located in a quiet area. All the major tourist attractions are only a short walk away.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Great view from the roof terrace where the breakfast was served. Coffee could be better but the fresh Orange juice was delicious. We would gladly come again.

Had a fabulous 3 nights in Istanbul and this is a good base to visit all the major tourist attractions.
The rooms aren't that big but are adequate. Good facilities. Fantastic rooftop terrace with amazing views. The staff were all helpful and polite. Went out at 10am in the morning and returned at 9pm in the evening so room size not really an issue as not in the hotel for long periods. Would definitely stay here again - 3 days is not enough time to explore Istanbul!
Looking forward to our next visit.

It has all I need when traveling for pleasure: location, quality and comfort, quietness, service and value.
The location is ideal for a few nights as it is in walking distance from most of the must-see attraction in Istanbul. It is also very close to the light rail and you can go effortlessly and expeditiously everywhere. If you were to stay for a week or so, you may consider other parts of town less touristic.
Although my room was a little small, it had everything I needed. It was beautifully and tastefully decorated, with solid wood floors, double panel windows, efficient and quite air conditioning. Great bathroom with bathrobes, wonderful towels, multijets shower and a great spread of toiletries. Everything was spotless clean. The terrace on the seven floor serves as bar and breakfast room. Beautifully decorated with a marine theme. And the view is to dy for... The quality of selection of breakfast was superb, with dozen different cheeses, vegetables, breads, fresh fruit, etc.
Although it is in a busy area, the location in a small street, the double glazed windows and thick walls provided perfect quiet.
Although some reviewers had concern about service and staff, I found all of them knowledgeable and, in a Turkish way, very kind and helpful. I would not necessarily trust their restaurant recommendation: other than that as great staff as you will find anywhere.
My price for a single was less than hundred euros for night: that include taxes, Internet, great breakfast even parking. In my opinion and outstanding value.

Burckin is great for a short stay, the rooms we stayed in were small so I would not recommend more than 2 or 3 nights. The room was spotless and well appointed and the view from the balcony is fantastic looking over the Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. The roof top terrace is fantastic for breakfast or a drink at sunset and the view is perfect. The staff were attentive and chatted away in very good english. Overall well pleased with our choice (as recommended on Trip Advisor)

Room Tip: Rooms overlook mosques etc and so can be noisy due to the call to prayer.
