We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights in March 2014. Located in the old town, around 10 minutes walk from the nearest tram station, this hotel is nearby famous sights such as the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophia. There are some good restaurants nearby as well.

The room was a good size and the bathroom was really quite large too. WiFi was available on every floor, and the signal was strong and speedy. Breakfast buffet consisted of vegetables, jams, fruits and fresh bread. There are some hot options as well (omelettes, fried pastry and sausages). The aubergines were my favourites!

The service was really friendly. We got to know Erdal, the receptionist, very well. He was friendly and spoke very good english and some japanese! He gave us information about how to reach nearby sights and gave some restaurant recommendations as well. He was a very nice and friendly person to be around :)

Overall, I recommend this hotel as it offers quite a lot for the price, making it very good value for money.

We are experienced City Break tourists & business travellers.
We stayed at Sultans Royal Hotel for 5 nights in March 2014.

The Hotel is easily reached and located within a quiet calm back street in Sultanahmet, extremely close to all "must see" attractions making it a perfect base for sight seeing and ideal for a good nights sleep. The immediate surrounding area is currently undergoing redevelopment and offers the benefits of all facilities you need, coffee shops, restaurants, souvenir shops, mini markets and travel agents. It is well located for public transport systems including the metro system, local buses and tramline with easy link up to major networks for further distance travelling.

The Hotel exterior is well maintained and the reception is welcoming. The general interior theme is modern with hints of classical traditionalism, a pleasant style reflecting Turkeys' current economy and young modernism. The bedroom was street facing, spacious with en-suite facility and cleaned every day. Room benefits included fully functional air-conditioning, chargeable mini bar, satellite TV (CCN, Sky & BBC world news channels), inclusive mini safe (large "shoe-box" size), tea & coffee making facilities and switchable bed side lighting.
There is inclusive wifi throughout the hotel.
Breakfast is daily 07:30 > 10:30 and was of good quality with choices of tea, coffee & juices, cereals, fruit, yoghurt & jams, meats & cheeses, boiled eggs, salad vegetables, roasted vegetables, bread and cakes. Hot foods included omelette (scrambled egg), sliced sausage in sauce and pancakes. All where replenished frequently.
Any other choices or dietary needs could be facilitated upon request.

There is the facility to store travel bags at the hotel on the day of departure should you have a few hours before leaving.

The Hotel reception staff are easily approachable and keen to help should you need any assistance with tour arrangements or advice on 'what to see' and 'getting around'. They are not imposing and remain as professional as is required but are wiling to spend time talking with you without impeding their professional duties.
Serkan, Erdal & Ersin are an experienced team of professional people who recognise that some guests prefer their 'own space' whilst others like to be more engaged. They have knowledge of the local area and have a "can do" attitude, if they are unable to address your concern immediately, they all take the time to find out for you. This is an admirable quality and goes beyond employed duties.
The supporting team (luggage & breakfast clerks, cleaning staff etc.) are all pleasant and approachable whilst focusing on their duties.

We researched this hotel extensively before booking. There are other hotels in the immediate area that draw attention with "gimmicks" . . . , but this is a professionally run establishment with an excellent personable team . . . . , this makes the difference to a holiday.
This Hotel is definitely the right choice.

Room Tip: Street facing rooms are quiet & bright.

The hotel is close to all important seeing spot and to very nice restaurants. We like the breakfast very much, still miss the fresh vegetables esp when you don't have enough vegetables because of eating out in restaurants all days. Service is very friendly and helpful.

I stayed in this hotel during March 2014. Unfortunately the weather wasn't good for several days. But the receptionists and the friendly staff helped me with all of my requests and gave me many good ideas with sightseeing places and interesting things that I could do, even when the weather weren't nice. The hotel is located in a very safe and calm area. The main attractions are very easy to reach within short time. I can really recommend this hotel and want to thank Erdal and the other friendly staff for the wonderful stay in Istanbul! Best regards from Switzerland
