I stayed here with my husband and his sister in July. We were offered a double room with fold away bed, as we were told the triple room we had booked was not available. After declining this, as the foldaway looked like it might collapse, we were put into 2 double rooms for the first night. The view and aspect of our double rooms were nice, including balcony. The following day, the staff moved our belongings into the triple room while we were out sight seeing. The triple room had a view of the emergency staircase and the window of the building next door, so our curtains remained closed. The triple room also had no balcony. The triple room was a good size and had a modern bathroom with good shower. Breakfast is served on the roof top terrace, which has great views over he city. The food itself was disappointing. Other than cereal which looked like a muesli mix, there wasn't much of a choice for western tastes. The hotel is in a great location, a walk to the blue mosque, aya sofia etc. also some great restaurants nearby. The staff all spoke fairly good English and were very friendly, and were able to help with tour bookings.

I have been to Istanbul Many Times in vacation & tried a lot of hotels each time I came,so here is another good & clean hotel, to start with the booking, it was kind of funny because i came in last minute to book which means 12 hours before the flight & was really hard to find a hotel especially now at the beginning of Oct. but after all i fond someone to answer me, the price was good comparing with other hotels which used to gave the room as "sale sale" at a very hight prices for a single room, it was kind of crazy to see such prices.. any way...
going into the room i saw exactly the large & purple room decorated exactly as in pictures which are in the hotel website something strange to me because each time i see the pictures of a room then i go to the hotel i find something totally different but this time was amazing to find the same room large & nice as its in pictures. you have LCD & all you need to make coffee or tea in the room, not any hotel has this option especially in Istanbul where you can cross the street & get a coffee easily.
for the breakfast it has a nice view outside on the roof really clean & nice choices & nice selection clean table linen & nice seats.
the location is really good just cross the street & you see Aya Sofya & the Blue Mousqe.
what else ... I really wonder for one thing...why all hotels dont serve turkish coffee at breakfast but only American coffee or expresso !

Room Tip: all the rooms are good even this one i got nothing to see from my window but still you have other op...

I didn't spend too much time in the hotel, but the staff here was super helpful and very nice in making sure that we had all of the information we needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the location is near some great sites and restaurants.

(+):
Good price, excellent localization ( near the biggest touristic attractions ), very nice and helpful staff. Comfortable and clean room. Breakfast restaurant is on the roof terrace with great view.
Wifi was everywhere.
In room we had: mini bar, electric kettle, tea, coffee and air conditioning.
(-):
Breakfast buffet was quite poor - everyday the same. Sometimes we have to wait for the table, sometimes there was no vegetables or fruits.

We were staying on the 4th floor - just below breakfast restaurant. It was a little bit loud from 7.00.

The bathroom was a little bit smelly because of the moist ( it's in almost every hotel so it was ok ).

In spite of the disadvantages, I hardly recommend this hotel !!!! It was a very good choice. We booked it with booking.com.

Perfect location in the middle of the touristic area, 5 minutes from Blue Mosquee, 10 to Aya Sofia.
Staff very kind, nice room, very quite during the night.
The only bad point is the breakfast, large selection but very poor quality.
Really a good experience .

Room Tip: we stayed on the last floor. very nice

Great location, very warm welcome of the staff upon arrival. I am very satisfied with this hotel. Excellent WiFi connection in the room. The rooms is big enough. Breakfast selection was good, enough for several days stay.
The roof terrace has a wonderful view to the Bosporus but as staff and other clients clients try to feed sea mews it was impossible to sit outside. In general this part needs renovation.

Though I booked this hotel, I did not manage to stay for one single night there:
when I arrived they told me there's been a pipe burst in our room and they had to get us another room in another hotel (later on I found out there was plenty of free rooms). After one night in another hotel we came back to Ayasultan. They gave us the key to our room but after 5 mins the reception called and told us, they had already given this hotel to someone else before and he could come home anytime. So that was it. Back to the other hotel again, where we stayed till the end of our trip. (The other room they offered did not have a window so I didnt accept it).

Facit: location good, room with window nice, the ones to the side/back are without windows/windows into a funnel.

- strange cooperation between this hotel and Basilica Hotel. Not only have I read that this pipe burst story has happened more often, I also was CHARGED TWICE by the two hotels.
