We read the reviews here and thought that perhaps some gaming of TripAdvisor was going on--surely a small cafe on a side street couldn't be the top-rated restaurant in Istanbul?
But we've now gone twice--once for lunch, and just this morning for breakfast (we made a special trip on our last day to go for breakfast here). The food stands out for its freshness, flavor, and difference--the meals we had were among the top three we had in Istanbul. The food is simple and flavorful, with lots of herbs and unusual flavors. I had the feeling we were eating food that would be considered more traditionally Turkish, and it was all light and delicious, unlike most of the oily, heavy food you get at other places. It's also just right in terms of portion size--no mammoth portions, just human-sized, and carefully prepared. The staff are lovely too.
A real find. If we came back this might be the first place I stopped.
