Great little place, unfortunately due to the size of the place it is always full. Probably the best hotel in the city on the Bosphorus, offering a fantastic private lounge and restaurant on the first floor to enjoy the frenetic passage of boats on the Bosphorus. The ground floor restaurant is very pleasant with beautiful people and good food. Reserve well is advance

I can only echo what others have written here. This was my first trip to Istanbul and this hotel was nothing short of outstanding. Luxury, service, food and the charm and exoticism of Istanbul are what this hotel is all about. The view of the Bosphorus from the bar, resto or lounge is nothing short of spectacular. A small anecdote-I asked for ear plugs one night as the music for the disco down the street was very loud. The next morning the hotel manager came to see me and offered to move me to another property in Istanbul. Really outstanding customer service.
You can stay at this hotel and take the water ferry into the Old Town every day for shopping and sightseeing. There are many great restos on the water and in the hills around Ortakoy. This will be a great base for your visit to Istanbul.

Dear RAMGOD,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience at The House Hotel Bosphorus.

I am pleased to hear you enjoyed your first time stay with us thank you for your wonderful feedback and recognition.

You are absolutely right about our location. While a vibrant area that is not at all quiet , Ortakoy is a lovely spot to be based in Istanbul due to its advantage of being right on the water. We always encourage our guests to use water transportation as much as possible especially between our hotel and the historical peninsula as you also mentioned.

We look forward to seeing you again soon when your travels bring you back to our way.

We were organizing our wedding celebration in Istanbul. In this case we were also looking for a hotel in Istanbul with an own character, not a standard five stars accommodation. It should be something special where the photograph can make nice pics of us, too. The house Hotel Bosporus was a tip of a friend of mine. We eyed up some pics in internet ans in a short time we were sure that`s the hotel we were looking for. It`s historical design, the location in the heart of Istanbul and it`s love for details was amazing. As we checked in we had the feeling to be at the right place. And our stay was also amazing like the hotel.

The crew checked in a short while that we were gonna marry. It was not so difficult as we were carrying our wedding package obviously with us. So they offered us help anyway. When I needed some help I went to the reception and every time someone has an idea or a tip for me. Everyone was very kindly and helpful. And the highlight was as the hotel manager Miss Bahar Karaca sent us a bottle of champagne and some chocolates dressed up wit a nice congratulation card. We were making some photos on the terrace as the gift was brought in our suite. Back from the terrace we were very surprised.

Thanks to all for their help and congratulations. Thanks for a kindly and wonderful stay. And I hope we will see us in near future again.

Best wishes
Funda & Canan

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in August. We loved the customer service and the manager looked after us as if we were personal 'house guests'. We absolutely loved the bar which was chilled and played excellent music. With fantastic views across the Bospherus it is well worth a stay. The hotel is in a noisy area which makes your stay a realistic Istanbul break, however, if you want quiet, this hotel is probably not for you. We loved it.

Small boutique hotel in well refurbished Ottoman wooden summer 'palace'.
Superb location with the first floor terrace lounge bar / breakfast room and the ground floor cafe overlooking the Bosphorus. In Ortokoy and good for access to the bars & night life there, however the downside is that you get substantial disco noise till 03.00h every night.
Staff are superb.
Breakfast good - mix of buffet plus fresh cooked.
Rooms in main hotel are well converted to modern standard but quite small. Larger room in the annex (located one narrow alley back from main building are larger, but you are then further from the sea).
No pool. Small gym overlooking alley at rear, with a few high spec. machines - I didn't see it used.

I am happy to hear you enjoyed our hotel and location. As you point out, while it is a fantastic and vibrant area with lots to offer, Ortakoy is most certainly not a quiet neighborhood. This is especially the case in the high season as well as on weekends all year-round.

Should you travel back to Istanbul, we hope to see you again.

My wife and I stayed at the House Hotel Bosphorus last July on a week end.
The one thing we will remember from this hotel is service. The manager and the whole staff did went the extra mile to make our stay special. From last minute requests to advices for a restaurant, they always replied promptly and with great thoroughness.
We found our room a bit small but the view on the bridge was spectacular.
As for noise, our experience (on a week end) is that everything shuts down around midnight so by the time we went to bed, everything was calm.
I am quite surprised someone had a 3 am nightmare experience because our Turkish friends told us that a new law forbids late noise.
If you stay at the HHB, I strongly advise to go for their breakfast. If possible, go to the breakfast/room terrace as early as possible to be sure to grab one of the three small tables facing the sea. When asked for eggs, try the local breakfast. It is amazing.

Room Tip: Try to book a room as high as possible to enjoy a better view and minimize sound nuisance.
