Beatiful location with an lovely view of the bosphorus and the bridge.

The breakfest is really god - you have the oppurtunity to eat from a buffe and/or order (free) warm breakfest from a menu. + tea/coffee/fresh orange juice.

The rooms are lovely with complementery water and sweets every day!

Ortakoy is charming part of Istanbul, but you do feel a little bit distance to the main attraction locations. The hotel shoud provide som tips for the guest on how to get to the different places, especially Taksim. By taking a taxi, you risk getting stuck in traffic.

Dear telenor,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience at The House Hotel Bosphorus even though it was a while ago.

I am very happy you enjoyed our hotel as well as our complimentary treats.

As far as location, Ortakoy is located away from the historical peninsula where most attractions are (Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar) but it is easily accessible by boat. This is why we make it a point to inform our guests of public transportation such as the public ferry and tram.

Should your travels bring you back to Istanbul, we hope to see you again.

Kind regards to Oslo,

Bahar Karaca

We stayed at the House Hotel on the Bospherous in Istanbul after a careful search both in terms of value and location. The water seemed essential to be near. We were not disappointed. The hotel has a most charming location and added to that a very local (upper end) flavour of a local cafe - the House Cafe. Fabulously located with a high end kitchen, this is the place to be for great food and good energy!
A small boutique hotel, charming and a little run down - but enough to endure, has its downsides. The rooms we selected for availability or value are small which is ok- but has a serious issue with storage ( no cupboard space), as a result everything lies outside - and for those who desire order (me) this could could be annoying!
The other downside is if you have a room that is not Bospherous facing then it could be a boring road view which is not what you might have signed up for (my kids room).
The upside is a most gorgeous breakfast on level one - east facing, with a glorious view of the water!
The service is excellent, the staff wonderfully friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to help us.
I would come back here, now with knowledge of what I would choose as a room.

Dear Shireengandhy,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your experience about The House Hotel Bosphorus in detail.

It was a pleasure meeting you and your family, I am very happy you enjoyed your time with us. Thank you for recognizing my staff, your kind words are much appreciated.

As you might know, our hotel is located in the landmark Simon Kalfa building built in the late 1800s. We opened after a meticulous 2-year renovation which mandated a particular layout for all guestrooms. We only have 26 rooms of a certain size but the height of the ceilings in this historical building provide an airy feel coupled with the signature comfortable design of our award-winning design firm Autoban. While our closets are not of a traditional design, we do realize they might not be enough for some of our guests. This is why we have increased the amount of closet space in certain rooms.

In terms of the Bosphorus view, as clearly stated on our website, most of our Superior Rooms (standard rooms) which is what you booked, do not have Bosphorus view. For a full view, I recommend our Superior Bosphorus rooms or Deluxe Bosphorus Suites which directly overlook the water.

We look forward to welcoming you again to our hotel, please feel free to reach out to me directly so I can assist with your room choice for your next visit.

Warm regards,

Bahar Karaca

All hotels need to learn from The House Hotel how to serve customers. The team at reception are great and they do whatever it is possible to meet clients' expectation. They were great in
organizing all our trips in the city, to support us in bying medecine from local pharmacies, etc

The hotel is located in a very nice areas and has an outstanding view on the Bosphorus.
It is quite romantic and it is good for couples, but not very comfortable for family with kids. Standard rooms are small and wardrobe is too small

This is a lovely hotel well restored in a tranquill setting over looking the Bosphorous.
The rooms are very spacious modern and well equiped generally although the lack of a proper wardrobe as oppised to the hanging rail provided was a little strange.
All the staff including the hotel manager were very freindly and helpfull.
The breakfast room over looking the blue Bosphorous straight is excelkent ant the buffet and hot selections varied of excellent quality and very well prepared.
Overalk a delight full stay in the hustle and bustle of a very busy and hectic city worth every penny.

This hotel is a former mansion, 250 years old having belonged to the father and son architects of the Ortaköy Mosque ın Ortaköy Garabet and Nigoğayos Balyan, who also designed the nearby Dolmabahçe Palace and Mosque.

It has been faithfully restored in the Ottoman Style but with everything else minimal and contemporary which makes a great combination. The views are breathtaking and the service is impeccable. From the manager Bahar Karaca to the housekeeping staff, each and every one is very polite and always willing to give assistance to make one feel comfortable and at home. It isn't located in a major tourist section like Sultanahmet. The views of the Bosphorus are breathtaking and sitting having a breakfast on the terrace while looking across to Asia makes you realize that life can't get any better. I can't thank them enough for the courteous and accommodating manner in which I was treated during my recent stay.

End of April we stayed at The House Hotel Ortaköy for three nights which we had found through recommendations on various online booking platforms.
We received a very warm and nice welcome upon arrival, our luggage was immediately taken care of and we were personally shown to the room and introduced to all the amenities.
However, the overall very nice room (in the booked category) did not fully meet our expectations, mainly because of the limited view. We expressed our slight disappointment and were very nicely consoled with chocolate in the room. At breakfast the next day the manager personally came to greet us and delivered the good news that a room on a higher floor was available for us. Our baggage was smoothly moved during our absence and we then had a fantastic view over the Bosphorus to the point of the Old Town in the distance.
The room was exactly as shown on the webpage, neat and clean, with only one small negative remark: the lack of storage space!
The breakfast offerings were exceptional with international and local specialties, fresh and nicely presented at a beautiful breakfast room with terrace over the Bosphorus, the service staff was very attentive and friendly.
Overall the staff, especially at reception was very friendly, always had a nice word whenever we passed by and were very concerned about our well being and safety, especially through the riots on May 1 (all guests received written information and updates about the traffic situation and possible security issues). The manager helped us in organizing a special boat transfer to the Old Town that day since the traffic was down and roads blocked.
We would like to especially express our thanks to Emre at reception for his professional and personal care and attention in every respect, i.e. by giving us directions, restaurant recommendations or by helping us with the pre-check in of our flights when we had lost our booking reference. Emre well contributed to making our stay outstanding and remarkable.
The hotel location is also very nice, a bit off the city center, however well reachable by taxi and tram, and in the middle of a lively, beautiful area of shops, bazars, restaurants and bars (windows of the hotel must be well insulated, there was no problem with quiet night sleep).
We highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again any time when in Istanbul.

Room Tip: Rooms on 4th floor have spectacular view. Windows well insulated, good night sleep provided. Calcu...
