The tasting menu is simply outstanding, both in terms of kitchen / cooking skills and value (85TL including wine samples in Feb. 2013). Pleasant, friendly service; the only slight negative is the rather cool, modern design style and atmosphere.

I stumbled upon this restaurant after visiting the Pera Museum. They have a broad menu of items but the tasting menu was the best value at 80 Turkish Lira. I had a nice potato soup followed by a salmon gravlax appetizer. My main course was sea bass wrapped in phyllo dough with another course of lamb shops. The four piece dessert completed the meal was amazing. All of the dishes were paired with various Turkish wines which I enjoyed. The service, which was done by culinary students, was very attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Had the grilled organic chicken it was a very tasty dish, served with light sauce and long grain rice mixed with black rice. It looked nice and tasted amazing. The service could be better (more enthusiastic) other then that well worth a try.

One of my favourite places to eat in Istanbul.

The staff are friendly and exceptionally professional, paying enough attention to detail to ensure you have a great dining experience while giving you enough space/time to enjoy things at your own pace (which is great when you're with your partner or friends ).

Every aspect of our meal was delicious, starting with the corn bread, olive oil & dukka, then to the mains which were a nice change from traditional Turkish fare (eg. cream of broccoli soup).

It's a beautifully presented restaurant (hats off to the designer) & the sort of place that "foodies" would appreciate and keep returning to.

Our only regret was to find out it was closed on Sunday... we found out the hard way ;-)

After a few days trying 'local' kebab joints and street food around Bestikas, I wanted to try some pricier restaurants in Istanbul to help form my opinion of Turkish food. There is no shortage of hotel restaurants in Taksim Square or Sultanhamet that have hawkers on the street to usher you inside for an overpriced pre-made meal so this culinary institute seemed like a worthwhile alternative. The food was great, well presented, and very reasonably priced. I went during lunch so didn't feel like ordering anything of the extensive/expensive wine list but the food options were plentiful and creative spins on items I had seen so far in my trip. The service was a bit slow but not much worse than other touristy places around town. The dining room is very well designed and would be a pleasant set up in any city.

Consider this a must do if you are in the Taksim Square area!
