A great "behind the scenes" peek at the food and cooking techniques of a beautiful country. Olga sets a great pace with lots to see and also time for resting to sip a cup of Turkish coffee while getting to know some new friends. Wonderful food and sights, I especially enjoyed the trip across the water to the less crowded and touristy neighborhoods.

“Wonderful introduction to Istanbul”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Whether you love to cook or not...we all love to eat and what a better way to be introduced to the food and flavors of Istanbul. From the Spice Market and learning about the different spices used in Turkish cooking, to the fabulous dried fruits and nut market...you will never taste a better sun dried apricot or nut....and Turkish pizza to fresh fish prepared all different ways.....don't forget bakalava (the best is on the Asian side) Turkish delight (wait to buy some to take home until she tells you that this is the place) and of course Turkish coffee! What a day!
I highly recommend this tour. I was the only real foodie...but my other three friends totally agreed!

“Best birthday present any appreciator of food will enjoy!”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

I'd seen the Delicious Istanbul blog months before heading to Turkey and everything written in there was what we had the luck to experience. Olga's inside knowledge to Turkish cuisine and what makes it "real" is the key benefit for this tour - although you get to walk the "tourist traps" you're also taken to out of the way places locals frequent. Any expectations you have will be exceeded - as will your stomach. The time is not rushed, which I appreciated and questions are welcomed - by Olga and store owners too. Be prepared to sample tastes you wouldn't perhaps expect and all the ones you hope to. This wasn't just a time to eat though - there's learning involved. Facts, figures, history and anecdotes all come into the mix - you'll hear stories about how a certain restaurant earned its reputation or why something (like Apple Tea) isn't as Turkish as some people might think. If you're on a budget start saving and have this as your splurge - you won't be disappointed. The Delicious Istanbul Food Tour is Turkish hospitality at its best.

“Great tour, highly recommend it!”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

We had such a fantastic day with Olga during our food tour. She was enthusiastic and knowledgable, and the tour was the highlight of our trip to Istanbul. The markets and vendors were simply lovely and Olga really knew how to make our experience memorable. She assisted with our purchases, shared tips on places to go, and took us to places we never would have seen without her. Finally, the different foods we tried were delicious! We took this tour on our first full day in Istanbul and I would recommend the same to anyone heading that way. Definitely a must do!
