Well, the museum consists of lengthy Turkish descriptions winding up to the "panorama," which is just a huge mural of people killing each other surrounded by reproduction canons and loud noises. It's far away; skip it.

We visited Panorama 1453 in January 2012.It`s easy to get there, tram station is nearby. There are a lot of pictures there, describing the conquest of Konstantinopol and on the upper floor the panorama itsels is located. It is marvellous. The only negative feature:everything is written only in Turkish,so,if you don`t know it, you need to rent an audioguide to understand everything.

If you are a history buff, (I am), then you will find this interesting, for you do get a sense of being in the thick of the battle for Constantinople in 1453. We escewed the audio guides for we knew the history, but they would be useful for those less au fait. The museum exhibits leading to the Panorama itself are all in Turkish and I am sure have a wealth of information. However we had come for the panorama itself and were duly impressed. The detail and optical illusion were executed very well. This is not a must see if your time is limited in Istanbul, but well worth it if you are looking for something different and have the time.
