We dined at Lokanta Maya, pre Ottolenghi-fame, and had a wonderful time.
We were seated in the back right hand corner which was by far the most private and intimate table of the restaurant.
Not being big eaters, we ordered 4 mezes to share: hummus and the famous courgette flowers to start and two meat dishes after: all that we ordered was delicious and fresh and the serving sizes were ample amounts for us.
We finished with a lovely dessert of stewed fruits and ice cream.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and we were pleasantly surprised to find some excellent Turkish wines to accompany the meal.
Our meal at Lokanta Maya was one of the highlights of our trip, and Gram, Didiem Senol's lunch/breakfast stop in Pera was also wonderful.
A note on the area: Karakoy is a very safe and upcoming area, we had no qualms walking back to our hotel from the restaurant late at night.
