We stayed 2 nights in this recently opened hotel near the Galata Tower. Rooms are large and well appointed, beds comfortable, very nice bathrooms. I would have two suggestions the reading lights are too dim and the curtains do not close so the room becomes light quite early. I would however stay here again.

Our group got together for a reunion in Istanbul. Staying at palazzo Donizetti made our experience even more pleasant and memorable. The staff was so nice and helpful that I wanted to bring them all back to the US with me! Always smiling, pleasant and helpful. The location in the fashionable "Pera" was absolutely perfect with lots of shops and restaurants not looking very different from the Latin quarters in Paris. Istiklal Ave is a short walk away. A taxi ride to the old town usually costs 15 lira if there is not much traffic. The deluxe rooms are beautiful and clean but if you can afford it, get a suite because they are absolutely gorgeous. Perfect experience at a perfect hotel. I would love to go back.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to noise, stay on the side of the hotel that does not face the main road.

I have just come back from Istanbul. Very quick check-in in Palazzo Donizetti Hotel. I was impressed with interior design until I entered the room. The smell in the room was awful. Apparently this was not just a problem with my room. Other people shared the same concern. As soon as I opened the door, the smell in the room was as if somebody forgot to flash. The hotel was a nice swimming pool and spa. The location is close to Istigkal cadesi, main walking street (Beyoglu). The breakfast room has a good view and choice was Ok again, not super. I was not impressed at all, overall it is an average hotel for me because of the noise outside and sleep quality.

I was traveling last week in Istanbul with my goddaughter. We stayed at the Donizetti and had a wonderful time. Although some decades apart in age, we share a fondness for travel and a keen recognition of quality and competence that comes with the travel experience.

The Donizetti is across from the Para Hotel, and about a block from Istikal Cd. the vibrant and lively street that is the essence of Beyoglu.

However Istikal Cd. with its late night energy can get noisy and the location a block away is just the right distance to keep the noise low, but near enough to be a just a few steps walk - at any hour.

All the staff was helpful and friendly in every aspect of our interaction. Helping with things from suggestions to discussions of brief histories of the locale and property. It is difficult to recall each of the names of the staff but Rabia at the front desk seemed to always be there, and handled our questions and needs with particular skill and competence each and every time.

This included a pleasant check-in, car arrangements from the airport ( arranged in advance by email), through the end right to check out.

The rooms and the property, are well maintained, efficient clean and enjoyable to visit, and generally the wifi worked ok.

Palazzo Donizetti is a great choice for visitors to Istanbul wishing to be in a lively location, with lots of trendy restaurants and bars nearby, yet with easy access to historical sites. The entrance lobby is stunning, matched only by the wonderful views from the roof terrace where you can enjoy breakfast, dinner, or a cocktail overlooking one of the best views of the city. Rooms are comfortable and tasteful, just ask for a quiet one if you are a light sleeper. Staff are unfailingly charming and I recommend this hotel unreservedly.

Room Tip: Corner suites worth paying a little more for

We stayed for two nights at the beginning and five nights at the end of a wonderful holiday visiting many regions of Turkey. It is always lovely to finish off with a bit of luxury. Our room during the first stay was on a lower floor and we did get a lot of street noise. Our room at the end of holiday however was on the 6th floor and we did not notice much noise at all. The rooms are all very well appointed, really clean and in excellent condition as the hotel is only about 13 months old.The staff were extremley helpful and courteous. The buffet breakfast was great and the view from the rooftop terrace where breakfast in served is fantastic. The location is great as it is only a short walk to the main hub of shops and restaurants. The foyer is beautifully decorated and a joy to walk in to. I would definately stay at Palazzo Donizetti next time.

Room Tip: The higher floors have less noise from the street.

Stayed 5 nights, along with numerous others, attending a business meeting. This hotel is newly renovated. Rooms are nice, bathrooms spotless, lobby elegant/pretty, staff faultlessly attentive/helpful, and the rooftop breakfast room has terrific views of the city. Breakfast was good overall, with lots of choices.
There were some critical faults that brought down the rating. As noted on other reviews the noise factor is a major drawback. Luckily we came prepared with earplugs. It was not just street noise coming in the windows which are not soundproof enough, but the bar on first floor til early morning, and one evening, the rooftop restaurant when there was a private event, combined to dismay even the most heavy sleeper.
Make sure to request a non-smoking room when reserving! If possible, get a room on the front of the hotel, not the side street where the night life is happening.
Located 2 blocks from Istiklal Caddesi, a great walking street with a picturesque tram; also, just across the street from Pera Palace hotel. This is a popular, secular, hip neighborhood. Ask the desk about the street with all the restaurants a few blocks up Istiklal - kind of crazy at night, particularly on Saturday, but loads of fun. Pick any place where you can eat upstairs with a few of the street below.
Wish I could have been happier with this location, but donot plan to return. I'd try to stay closer to the historic center.

Room Tip: Ask for a room off the street, also non-smoking
