My husband and I are visiting our daughter and son-in-law and on our sil's recommendation went here for dinner. What's wonderful experience! The shrimp appetizer was amazing and the dolmas!! How is it possible for grape leaves to melt in your mouth??? The entrees were cooked to perfection and delicious. The staff was very professional and in true European style, did not rush anything during our dinner. Thank ynfor a truly memorable evening!

We found this restaurant by chance and the recommendation by Tripadvisor in 2012 and 2013 made it sound very promissing for dinner on our last evening in Istanbul. What should have been a lovely evening in a cosy restaurant turned out as a big disappointment. The food was lovely (salads, honey stake and mante), but the service was appalling! Not only that both waiters were very unmotivated and arrogant (despite the fact, that the restaurant was half empty and they would have had time for their guests), one of them was constantly chewing gum with his mouth open and the food was served in a rather sloppy way. Also, the main course was served, the very moment we finished our starters, with the result, that we had finished the meal with half the bottle of wine left. They didn't ask if we had enjoyed the meal nor if we wanted coffee or dessert. Instead the preferred to hang at the bar counter and chat with each other. We've been to many restaurants on our Istanbul holiday...this has been the worst in terms of friendliness and service quality. This seems to be a good example of what can happen if a restaurant gets a official tripadvisor recommendation two years in a row. People pour in and there's no need to keep quality high...pity :-(

Dear Sabine,

We are terribly sorry for the inconvenience you experienced in Dai Pera. Our only motto is "good food and good service" but what you have described is just the opposite.

Our servising personnel have been the same for the last two years and they have been positively reviewed with their assistance and high servising quality by their names too many times by our guests. We will take the necessary precautions to prevent any kind of unexpected behaviour in our place.

Thank you for your review, we will get use of it the best way we can.

Best Regards,

Arzu Gurdamar

Dai Pera offers a small menu with typical turkish dishes, although with modern influence. Dinner reservation recommended.

Loved the environment and food was great. It was nice to find somewhere more relaxed, you can tell the owners enjoy what they do. We had a lovely night. Many thanks!

We were strolling around looking for a place to grab a bite to eat and decided to stop in since they have vegetarian ravioli. Boy were we happy to have picked this place! My ravioli was excellent - lentil, spinach and cheese in a nicely spiced tomato sauce. My husband had the 3 layer chicken (chicken with eggplant and cheese on top) and loved it. The pilaf had cinnamon and currents. We both tried the homemade lemonade which came with little matchstick pieces of apple on top and was refreshing and delicious. Definitely recommend this place!
