We are a family with 2 young kids and have just spent a wonderful 2 nights at the Sultan House en route from Madrid back to work in Shanghai. We arrived just in time for the New Year's Eve fireworks (courteous and patient pick-up service from the airport - they had to wait as we'd lost our baggage - took 40 mins to reach the hotel), and received an extremely warm welcome from the hosts of this family-run hotel, including snacks & coffee/juice and incredibly a Christmas present (engraved plate) waiting for us under the Christmas tree in the lobby !! It is a very small hotel - about 10 rooms in all - and we booked the"family room", which is a suite of 2 small rooms in the attic, newly decorated & equipped, clean and warm with extremely comfortable double beds (one in the master bedroom and a double sofa bed in the living room), flat tv for the kids, en-suite shower, minibar, and a studio-style kitchen space with tea-making equipment and a sink. In real life, the rooms are smaller than they look in the photos on the website, and are real attic rooms so you have to duck you head to reach the bathroom (hence we have scored it only 4 out of 5), but very comfortable. Next to our room we had access to a small roof terrace with close-up views of the minarets of the Blue Mosque - probably a good place to chill out if the weather is fine (too cold in Jan). Fully agree with the other reviews regarding the excellent & simple buffet breakfast, fabulous location (delightful cobbled street leading straight onto the hippodrome/blue mosque/Aya Sofia area, plenty of good cafes and restaurants nearby). One other compliment - the manager and his staff helped by calling the airport for status on our lost luggage. In short, the comfort, convenient location and excellent service at this small hotel meant we had an easy and memorable stay in the wonderful Sultanahmet quarter of the city.

Excellent experience! Great location to Blue Mosque, Haghia Sophia, and in the middle of Sultanahmet Square......a must for visitors to Istanbul who want to experience the old city. We were treated like family and personal kindness was shown by all the staff. We shared tea on check-in and photos with staff at check-out! We will recommend this establishment to all heading to Istanbul for a lovely, relaxing and convenient stay. The breakfast buffet is delicious and included personal requests including crepes and omelets and of course the Turkish Chai tea!

We arrivd t 5.30 AM, yet we were received with verywarm welcome, the manager gave us all th information we needed even in hat hour. Room was spacious, very clean and quite.
Breakfast wa ery good.
Hotel is very central, only few steps away from the Blue Mosque, 5 min walk from Aya Sophia, less tha 10 minutes walk from the Grand Bazar and the main tram lie. Surrouded by restaurants whichserve delicios Turkish food at very reasonable price.
Hihly recommended.
