Excellent in all respects ,From the moment we met the staff ,at this extremely well located hotel, we felt welcomed and well informed of what we should consider doing during our stay. We were escorted to bedrooms that were clean and spacious. All together, staff (Younis,Ramadan & jean) service, breakfast, and location make the cost of our rooms an excellent value.

A family run hotel and fabulous location, literally a stone's throw from all the historic sights. Located just 1 minute walk from the Hippodrome, the spot avoided the hills and was in a quiet area. Younus, at the desk, was very helpful and was keen to help us plan our stay and excursions, however we had already booked these before arriving. before leaving for Istanbul Younus was helpful in answering our queries over the phone and via e-mail. Jehan and Ramazan were also great and happy to help us with whatever we needed including free Wi-Fi and printing. Ramazan helped to resolve our transport debacle with the transport company at 2 o'clock in the morning. Having said this, the hotel is happy to arrange for transfers, for a reasonable charge. Our room was clean, had a mini bar, TV with some English channels and air con. Some very nice Japanese artwork adorned the walls. The room was turned down each day by a conscientious maid, loads of complimentary toiletries and the bed slippers were a novel touch. Only let down was that it was too small to be a family room, beds were crammed in against the windows so they couldn't be opened and the extractor fan in the extremely small shower room had been 'extracted'! Great power shower though. Breakfast was ok, cold meats, nuts, olives, salad, cereal, French toast and boiled eggs. In spite of a couple of minuses the hotel was better than some we have stayed in, definitely would stay there again.

Room Tip: If the hotel is not too busy ask for a larger room. they are quite accommodating.

Very cosy family run hotel in an ubbeatable location. Close to most of Istanbuls cultural higlights.
The tramway station and restaurants are also closeby. The tramway is most important as the trafic in Istanbul is something special.
For us an unbeatble location.
We stayed at Sultan House for one week and felt at home away from home.

We stayed at Sultan House for a total of 7 nights for our honeymoon in August.

The (VERY) good: The room we had was well-lit, spacious and EXTREMELY clean.

Breakfast was very good. There was a bit of everything: fresh fruit, yoghurt, bread, eggs, french toast, a variety of nuts, raisins, olives, cheeses, ham, dried fruit and other equally delicious food items.

The staff was amazing: Yunus, Ramazan and Jihan were all very helpful. I cannot thank you all enough for making our honeymoon so special. They even gave us a complimentary fruit basket and a bottle of wine... :-)

It is worth staying at this hotel even solely for the location itself. Everything is within walking distance and there are no hills to navigate, unlike other more expensive hotels in Sultanahmet.

The Bad: I didn't totally like the room they gave us on our 1st night but they changed it without hesitation for the rest of the 6 nights.

I will definitely be back at Sultan House and hopefully have the rest of the family join me to enjoy the beauty of Istanbul. Stop looking and just book at Sultan House! :)

We stayed here at the end of august, beginning of sept. The location was perfect for walking to the main tourist sites. We had also stayed in a different hotel that was close to the blue mosque, etc., but there were many hills to navigate. This hotel is located in a spot that avoids the hills. We also found better restaurants in this neighborhood. The room itself was very clean and the staff was generous in providing towels and toiletries. The breakfast was fine too -all the breakfasts in the hotels we stayed at we're very similar. The Internet was strong and consistent. It is just a short walk to see great views of the marmara sea. I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the beginning of our trip to Turkey, they gave us a nice and clean room, we we're very close to the biggest attraction in old Istanbul, Aya sophia , blue mosquee, restaurants , big bazaar etc...
The staff is very nice , they do whatever is necessary to please you, the breakfast was simple , but very good also.It was a little bit noisy at night, but it was normal, it was the ramadan, so everyone is partying late. That's the price to pay for being close to the action!:)
A good price /quality experience!
If we go back to Istanbul, we'll stay there again.
Thanks again!!

Room Tip: We had 303 the first time and 301, 2 weeks later, 301 is bigger and nicer .

I stayed here with three other guests for 6 nights this past month. They gave us a great apartment at no extra charge! The location is fabulous and it is definitely the best feature of this hotel. Breakfast is great--with a mix of hot and cold dishes (loved the eggs and french toast!). Also, the rooms are EXTREMELY clean (coming from American and Australian standards--which says a lot!). Our room had the view of the Blue Mosque--which was spectacular!

Yunus, the front-desk man, helped us out throughout our stay and answered questions we had about the area and site-seeing. Ramazan, also the front-desk man, helped tremendously and was great company when we'd come back from our days out in Istanbul.

THIS IS A MUST-STAY PLACE! We all decided we'd only stay here anytime we come back to Turkey. The service is amazing and all in all a great value! We got so much more than what we paid for.

Room Tip: Ask for an apartment if available.
