We were in Istanbul on 4th and 5th October 2012. This is our second visit to this global city, with it’s dominant domes and minarets, busy streets, and 11 million people! It’s a fascinating place, with it’s history and variety of cultures, although predominantly Muslim, an officially a secular country.

The city spans two continents with an Asian and a European section, the old and the new sectors. There’s lots to see and among the most popular sights are the Sultan Ahmed Mosque or the Blue Mosque, Dalmabache Palace, The Archaeological Museum, The Aqueduct of Valens, The Hippodrome, etc.etc. And not forgetting the famous Bazaars.

You are required to remove your shoes when entering the Blue mosque. So wear good socks. You could also purchase plastic covers for your shoes, which are then disposed.

Be prepared to jostle with crowds wherever you go. Bargaining is expected at the bazaar.

Many sites are paved with cobbles, so low-heeled shoes are advised for ladies.
Shoes must be removed when visiting the mosques. Plastic slippers worn over the shoes are available for a fee.
Men should not wear shorts, and women not wear mini skirts when entering into the mosques.
Wheel-chairs are not permitted in the mosques.
Security must not be taken for granted, so be aware of your surroundings, and secure personal valuable items like cameras, purses and wallets, and do not attract attention with jewelry; carrying your bags in such a way that these are not opened without you being aware.
Stick to the main attractions, sights and districts.
At the markets and bazaars, you are expected to bargain over prices.
Shops are closed on Sundays.

We had a really nice time on the Istanbul City Tour, inspite of the weather on the day. Our guide (I'm sorry I forget his name now) was good, professional, and knew his stuff well. The tour pickup, re-distribution, travel as well as the drops were done without any issues.

We had been in touch with their staff - Ms. Aline Akdemir who was very helpful in booking this tour and with lots of clarifications, and she was extremely prompt and precise with her responses, which was very re-assuring.

Istanbul is of course a lovely city, and the sites themselves were great to visit.

So all in all, we were very happy with the services, and would definitely recommend Istanbul Daily City Tours.

As part of Princess Cruise tour offering, we toured Istanbul under the professional guidance of Aysenur. As it was our first visit, the focus was on the main attractions of the city (Blue Mosque, St Sophie Museum, Grand Bazaar. carpet weaving), We will certainly call on her services again when we return to see other interesting parts of the city.

My wife and I were visiting Istanbul and needed a guide. We hired Nesime Kaya for an all day tour. I must admit she was extremely professional and showed us all the sites with detailed explanations. The walking tour was great and she had pre-planned everything we would require for the tour. Her English was superb and her knowledge was thorough. She did not hurry us and was open to anything we wanted to see. I would highly recommend her if you are ever in Istanbul and need a true professional to show you all the sites. Her number is 0 534 646 08 77 and her email is kbesime@hotmail.com.

Bonita is a wonderful tour company! They booked our complete 2-day package to Cappadocia, and it was perfect from hotel pickup to end. I believe their founder/owner's name was "Fetih" - we screened a few tour operators in person, checked their Tripadvisor ratings - and he sure met our expectations.

They use several guides in Cappadocia, and all might be equal, but we found "Efe" one of the best ever. He was patient, kind, excellent English. We met another couple Jessica Mooney and Luke from Australia, and they'd booked a whole series of tours with Bonita, and were completely pleased, too.

We were booked into the Roma Cave, and it was really good (although the shower was a bit too high tech without guidance, and the wi-fi was a bit weak in our room). The bed was comfortable, the room spacious and attractive, and the breakfast buffet and patio view a real hit.

We were unimpressed with the pottery visit on day one, but on day 2, Efe blew us away with visits to a stunning factory where they made exotic, artistic, pottery - and then to a rug manufacturing cooperative where local women were producing carpets to die for. I photographed a small one that we are debating for purchase as wall art - it's beautiful, and far from the obvious kickback-merchants so many tours take you to.

Our balloon company, Rainbow, was also terrific - if you can get their Spanish owner "Alfredo" s your pilot, to so - he is a pure joy to fly with!

We cannot too highly recommend Bonita. You'll come away feeling the same!
