“Good hotel.”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

We stayed in this Hotel in the begging of January 2013.
We liked the staff (very polite), room (our room was on the last floor so there were two windows on the roof which was quite interesting), location (in 5 minutes there was a center of old city-Blue mosque, Aya Sofia).
Breakfasts were the same everyday but it didn't bothered us much.
The quality/price relation is excellent.

Well situated hotel, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. spent five nights there and had an excellent time in Istanbul. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel - very affordable, clean and well decorated. Breakfast features a varied buffet and with omelettes cooked to order - The kitchen staff were a delight as were the receptionists. Location and hospitality were first rate. I will definitely be going back again - Cok Guzel!

We were there in December for two days, smooth efficient airport pick up, very kind and professional manager, clean, comfortable, new smallish rooms, rich good quality breakfast. Certainly good price-quality relationship.

I think that the designation of "boutique hotel" that is often associated with the hotels in this area of Istambul (Sultanahmet) is misleading because this is an historical area which appears either to have been renovated fairly recently or to have been built from scratch. Very few cars are allowed to circulate: at Sultanahmet you feel like you are in small, nice and organised village, while a much more chaotic city lies somewhere far.

In this cute, lovely village, all buildings have 2, maximum 3 storeys high. This is also the architecture of the vast majority of the hotels. But being tiny does not turn them necessarily into boutique hotels: they have a small number of rooms and appear to be family-owned.

In this context, Novano Hotel is a good choice: rooms are tidy and nice (although a bit small), breakfast has the essentials (cereal, toast, tea, coffee, cheese, ham, butter, some vegetables and fruit, omelette / scrambled eggs and some pastry), but that's pretty much what you need when you have astonishing monuments so near by: the blue moske, aya Sofia, the cistern...

On December 2012 we paid 277€ for a 3 night stay (breakfast included). The room definitely didn't worth that much, but we did some research and had the feeling that it seemed unlikely to have similar quality for significantly less money. You're paying the convenience of the location, that's for sure.

We have just arrived back from four nights at this hotel and cannot recommend it enough. It is ideally located in the old town of Istanbul with all the main sites within walking distance. The hotel is fairly new and has been decorated with modern and upmarket decor. Breakfast is great - a continental breakfast but with a choice of eggs. The manager (Enver) was really really helpful, answering all of our questions and making us feel "at home". The bed was really comfortable and the hotel was very clean. Overall, we did not want to leave!

Having just returned from a 3 night stay in Istanbul I can wholeheartedly recommend The Novano in Sultanahmet. The hotel is situated on a busy yet not noisy street with plenty of restaurants and a few bars. It is an easy 5 minute stroll to the centre of Sultanahment and the Aya Sofia & Blue Mosque etc. The hotel has had a full refurbishment to a very good standard and all of areas of the hotel were immacuately clean. The bedrooms are tastefully furnished with very comfortable beds with white linen and duvets, a radiator as well as air con and mosquito screens on some of the windows. There was also a fridge/mini bar which was very useful and free wifi throughout the hotel. The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh bath size towels were replaced every day. The breakfast was again excellant .. the usual Turkish style wiith the addition of made to order omlettes, scrambled or fried eggs. Unlimited tea, coffee & fruit juices were also provided. We considered the hotel excellant value for money based on it's location and standard of accomodation. The management and staff at the hotel were attentive and friendly and airport transfers can be provided on request. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and I cannot wait to return ....

Room Tip: We were lucky enough to have a triple room (403) on the 3rd floor with the addition of a skylight an...

I stayed with my boyfriend in hotel Novano for 8 nights this month, went to Canakkale, Izmir, Kusadasi and afterwards came back for one night in this hotel in Istanbul. Everything was great about this hotel, the rooms are reasonalby big, nice and cosy with some Iznik tiles above the bed and in the bathroom. We were lucky to get the street view, although the wall view is not the reason why we wouldn't stay in the hotel:).cleanliness is excellent, very kind and helpful staff, including the hotel manager, breakfast was really good, mix of European and Anatolian breakfast with some vegetables and dried fruit,,,.We were overwhelmed and also spoke with staff few basic Turkish words and they were thrilled with us too!!! The location of the hotel is perfect, 50-70 meters from Arasta bazaar which is on the rigth lateral side of the Blue Mosque. It is also situated at the end of the lively Akbiyik street where the noise is not so deafening...We would warmly recommend this hotel to solos and couples....
