My friend and I felt very welcome bybthe staff in Asitane. Hotel itself is located only 5 mins walk from the Grand Bazaar, in the old town area. We love that location. Asitane may not be the poshest nor luxury hotel in Istanbul but its staff definitely made it up, they trested us just like we're their friends, friendly, honest and helpful. No gimmick. My only criticism is the facilities in the room, it may need a bit of updating but with the helpful staff like them, nothing is impossible or too much for them.
If you're looking for some reasonably priced and good location. We would highly recommend Asitane.

We spent a wonderful 2 nights at this lovely little spot in Sultanahmet - the hotels hosts were wonderful and we loved chatting to them over Turkish coffee and watching as the city passed us by. The room we were given was wonderfully comfortable - had a traditional Turkish feel and a great view of the Bosphorus. The location was perfect, in a quieter part of the district and a short walk from key tourist destinations.
The bathroom is small - so if you're over 6 ft it might be a squeeze.
But we loved it there and do recommend a stay.

My sisters and I have just come back from Istanbul and would recommend this hotel. It is very
clean, breakfast was plentiful and tasty, the beds were comfortable and the staff very helpful.
Selman and his staff went above and beyond to make sure we didn't miss any of the sights of
this fabulous city. The hotel is in the Old City, within walking distance to the major attractions.
I would definately stay here again.

The hotel is older but we wanted the character and the location was great. It was a colorful and vibrant street - always busy with day to day activities of local shopkeepers. The staff were so attentive and friendly it felt more like visiting friends than staying at a hotel. The breakfast was great, Wi-fi was appreciated and the room was large and clean with an excellent view. I let my travel agent know much I enjoyed it as she had completed the booking for us. The staff made this a fun and memorable hoiday.

Asitane Life Hotel is a great place to stay in Istanbul within walking distance to several of the major attractions as well as the cable car system that can take you to several other attractions. It appears to be a converted private residence with plenty of charm but as would be expected the convenience of an elevator in a five story building is missing but knowing that at time of booking we requested a room near the main floor. The breakfasts were very good with enough selection to please anyone. The breakfast room has a great little terrace where you can sit and watch Istanbul life pass by particularly nice place to end your day with a glass of Raki. But the thing that makes it such a fantastic place to stay is the staff especially the desk staff Sultan (nickname :) ) who made sure we were well looked after and were getting the most out of our time in Istanbul and seemed to know what we needed before we did. All the staff was very warm and inviting and made us feel very comfortable and well cared for.

Room Tip: This hotel has no elevator but there is a main floor room
