We spent one night at the hotel last week. We found the hotel easy to find, located to the old city. The room was quite small, the walls were very thin but the hotel was very clean, the service at the reception was correct. The breakfast was nice. If you want to use the facilities it is not include in the price (€13 extra).

Room Tip: avoid if possible the bedrooms in the back street there is shop air-conditioning working all night!

I do not know who anointed this hotel with four stars; but, they are wrong based on my travel experience. My expectations were high based on what I read and saw on this hotel's website; but, in reality things were quite different than the pictures presented.

The hotel room was small, basic, and I cannot begin to imagine two people in the same room. There was about a foot of distance between the bed and the walls, and nearly two feet from the foot of the bed to the wall. The bathroom is even more compact and you can wash your hands while using the sanitary facilities. The only thing smaller in this hotel are the two phone-booth sized elevators which are modern and functioned well.

The flat screen TV was about the size of a computer monitor. The cordless phone had a built-in alarm that was impossible to turn-off. But the phone alarm was less of an issue than the pre-sunrise "call to prayers" blasted from the speakers atop the minarets of the mosque one block away, as well as up to five times a day. But this is the case all over the city and not just at this hotel.

The free breakfast is a bit of a diversion for those accustomed to a typical American style breakfast. For obvious religious reasons, there is no bacon, ham or similar breakfast meat to be found. But boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruits and bread will hold you over until lunch. There is an array of olives and cheeses available, as well. But the two strongest things you are likely to encounter in Turkey are the coffee and tea!

The good news is this is a non smoking hotel, except to those who elect to do otherwise. And management certainly never objects to such smoking. If visiting the lower level spa area you might find the staff sitting around smoking, as well. It seems smoking might be the national pastime in Turkey.

While the location of this hotel is OK for walking to the prime tourist sites to the east in the old city, a word of caution, the neighboring area to the west of this hotel is a bit "dodgy" and there are pick-pockets plying their trade. Make certain you carry your wallet high and in a place not easily accessible. The pick-pockets will pretend to begin to faint and fall back into your arms. While you are attempting to catch the falling person, they are helping them self to the contents of your pockets.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the backside of the hotel if you do not want to be blasted out of bed before the s...

When i booked this accommodation during my search on Expedia it seemed very cheap in price and heavily priced according to the images uploaded on the website, it seemed royal and 5 star service. The moment we arrived the staff were very unhelpful and it was a disgrace. So i urge everybody please dont go by the images please!!! Its awful.

Room Tip: None please dont go by the images. Its not the same.

I booked this Hotel for a short break in Istanbul to use up airmiles flights values. When the Hotel popped up on the website it detailed it was part of the Grange Hotels Group. I have stayed in Grange Hotels Tower Bridge Hotel and it is absolutely gorgeous so I was well pleased to find this one and booked it on that basis.

On arrival, the hotel is dark and not the cutting edge modern I had expected of a Grange Hotel.
It was on a backstreet that was a bit iffy although after exploring further and getting my nerve up in a new city, although not an attractive street, it was safe and there are eating places and shops within easy walking distance. It had been advertised as overlooking the Blue Mosque which is total rubbish!!! It is very near A mosque.

My room was very old fashioned, not styled as those shown on the website, very dark and overlooked the flat roof of another building at the rear, very unattractive view out of the window. Only benefit was late afternoon sun made the room brighter. Bathroom was ok. Room was small too, double bed and not much other room.
I complained about the quality and location of the room and was eventually changed to a room overlooking the street which was a bigger room but lost the light!!! And the view hadnt been worth worrying about as it turned out. The bathroom WAS lovely though.
Tea and coffee making in the room wasnt standard and I requested to move the tea making from the other room into my new room which was eventually agreed.
Very very disappointing start to my stay in Istanbul. The Hotel is located a good 40 minute walk from the area of the Blue Mosque.
Breakfast is good although breakfast staff rather dreary.
Manager had the unfortunate "affliction" of smiling broadly at everything so when youre complaining to him it looks like he's mocking you..didnt help our initial relationship but in fact he was a really nice guy and did all he could to rectify my issues.
Aside from my disappointment, the public areas of the hotel are very nice "antiquey" appearance, old fashioned very ornate and quite grand looking but in a kitchy way.
Manager and his reception staff are nice and eventually very helpful.
I wouldnt stay at this Hotel again. It is graded 4 star but the Istanbul 4 star doesnt always equate to our 4 Star. Not my style of Hotel.

Room Tip: Never found out if the fitness suite was actually for my use, had forgotten about it until I was lea...

Despite of cold weather, hotel was warm. Rooms adequately equipped, bathroom little bit too small. Service at reception friendly and good response with reserving two half-day tours.

The room is standard. Nothing fancy. Decoration and structure are quite clumsy for a triple room. There was no bottle water provided. The toilet is kind of small. Breakfast was so-so. The food isn't delicious as they advertised on their homepage at least. But the staff are RUDE. From the manager to the waitress serving you breakfast. NEVER change money here as well. The receptionist offered to change me 2.3 lira for 1£, while outside they offered 2.74lira for a £, and the day before i just got change for 2.8 lira. Ridiculous. Probably he thought Asian tourists are all dumb (I dont think its the hotel service, just that particular receptionist tried to make money out of me). So BE CAREFUL
