I went here for dinner alone. After having bought a carpet just across the road the shop owner suggested the restaurant to me. I was welcomed warmly and helpfully suggested to choose from the rich menu. I felt confident to eat well since there were only few other foreigners inside te restaurant on that evening. A group of Turkish business men were sitting at a table close to mine and the owner joined them during dinner. A somehow dark cellar like atmosphere is given to the back part of the nicely decorated restaurant by the old stone walls which is typical for the oldest area of Istanbul. The owner suggested me to order less then I initially planned to eat, being very hungry.
The simple spicy vegetable appetizer, a crispy, thin blown up bread ball that came fresh out of the oven and a light yogurt drink arrived promptly.
After that I had a kebab with many different ingredients. It was very tasty and typical for what I love about Turkish quisine: strong flavors and a mix of meat, vegetables, bread, rice and different sauces.
When I will go back to Istanbul with friends or my wife I will definitively bring them here!
