“4 stars? Really?”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The hotel is well located in the old town, near to all the main attractions but this is the only thing i liked. The rooms are tiny, i had to put my luggage up in the bed just to open it.The pictures i saw before booking was not accurate, Photoshop? A good angle? Another room? Sooo disappointing. I am glad i stayed only for 2 days. The bathroom was very old and it was really smelly and toilet paper was dirty.Non smoking room but smelled like cigarettes. No soundproof at all, it was like sleeping in the corridor. This hotel is a 4 stars? why? The breakfast buffet was ok, nothing special. Reception staff was ok, waiters were really friendly and polite.I was satisfied with staff except Mrs Kathy extremely unprofessional and rude. I heard she was/is manager. That s why the hotel is in such a mess. Roof garden was abandoned , we asked the reception and they showed us the elevator but neglect to tell us nobody was there. Really bad experience, hope nobody else makes the same mistake i did and believe photos are real. I intend to write an email to the hotel as well to inform them but i am sure they know whats happening. Just go somewhere else, not worth it at all.

Young Couple traveler
Best Location.
Decent Hotel with basic facility.
The room is spacious and the bed is comfortable.
Clean and organized.
Staff is always helpful and approachable.
Best tasty breakfast with some variety everyday.

Only have some issues with the toilet flush and door knob of toilet door broke off (room 402).

Overall it was a good experience, would recommend to friends. :)

Pros: very nice place, close to the major attractions in Sultanahmet. Staff is very polite.

Cons: You can basically hear everything from the next room. Having very loud unpolite people as neighbours, it is totally unconfortable to come back here to sleep. Even though this is a non-smoking hotel, our neighbours kept smoking all the time, so our room stinked the whole day. These were not the kind of people to argue with, this is why we didnt mention it to them. There is a smoke detector in every room, it seems that its not working at all... Hotel staff didnt notice anything of this.

The bathroom has mold in it. The cleaning lady comes every day, but once she managed to leave us dirty (!) toilet paper.

I will of course write all this to the hotel management also, but maybe one should consider choosing another hotel.

This is my second stay at this hotel. Extremely clean throughout, staff very polite, helpful and professional. Buffet breakfast with great selection of cheese, eggs, fresh salads, pastries and else…
Hotel situated in the heart of Sultanahmet area within a 5 mins walking distance to Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, etc.
Tram station at 2 mins walk and beautiful Gulhane Park within 3.
Great connections to Ataturk airport. The very new Marmaray train, Galata Bridge and ports with boats going across to the Asian side of Istanbul all very, very nearby.
Nice roof terrace too. Can highly recommend.

Hotel was very well placed for all amenities and restaurants. Staff could not be more friendly. Lovely breakfast. Room a bit small but what do you need when you only sleep and shower there. Everything very clean. Airport transfer organised with no fuss or problem. All in all I would definitely go back here.

Room Tip: Room 303 was small but quiet. AC ok but no view.

Stayed here in october 2013, for 4 nights. booked the hotel after seeing reviews in TA and Booking.com and must say every word was true. Hotel is neat and cozy. rooms are just big enough with all the amenities one would require. it is a good 7-8 minutes walk to Sultanahmet area where all the main attractions like Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia are situated. tram station (Gulhane) is just 2 minutes walk which is a very plus point as one is attached to all the places by tram, right from Taksim Square (shopping area), Sultanahmet to Grand Bazaar.
Hotel does have tea making facility in room but dont have english tea or milk. but there is shop just next to rear entrance of the hotel where one can find everything.
i really like the hotel and would recommend it to everyone as it is not very expensive compared to other hotels in the same lane but at the same time, ticks all the boxes one would hope in a holiday where most of time is spent in sight seeing etc.

Room Tip: stayed in room 306 which opens in the rear street. was a bit noisy but would get quite during night.

This is a small but friendly hotel within walking distance of many of the historical sites as well as the Spice Bazaar and Bosphorous.
The room was small but comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful. They made many useful suggestions for places to visit and dine. The free breakfast was plentiful.
I highly recommend it.
