“Lovely Restaurant!”
Reviewed May 26, 2014 via mobile

Went to this restaurant yesterday on the final night of our stay in Istanbul. Stumbled across it and liked the outdoor seating and 'balcony' effect. Ordered Musaka and the lamb wok dish. Both were delicious, steaming hot and juicy. The place is pleasant and the staff are nice but not too pushy.

Highly recommended!

Our 2 night stay in Istanbul was perfect. The hotel is in prime location for a short break and the staff at the front desk were always helpful and courteous. They arranged and recommend the tours we took, the Bosphorus cruise and the same agency arranged a Tour of the Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazar. Breakfast was a set menu of an omelette and place of cheese and a pastry with a cake between 7.30-10.30. The rooms are small but we had a good view of the palace from a balcony. No minibar but there was a fridge available. Overall, great experience and would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is very close to the Blue Mosque, local transportation and lots of restaurants. Check out the Cistern, sort of across the street, really cool. Spice market and Grand Bazaar are also within walking distance or a few tram stops if you are not a walker. The hotel breakfast is delicious.

There are many helpful staff members including Kadil, tell him 'Joe' sent you.

There is no better place to be at Istanbul for such price. Our room was small and the hotel is old, but it is close to all good restaurants and to Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar ... Kadir is at the reception desk always ready to help. My wife was sick and he walked with us and helped us to take the tram until a pharmacy which was open at night. The stars is the staff.

Stayed here for six nights as part of a longer trip. I choose the hotel mainly because of the rave reviews on this website - I think a more balanced review is needed.

First the good:
You couldn't get a better location, all the major attractions are within easy walking distance.
The staff are unfailingly helpful.
Restaurants abound in and around the hotel.

Now the bad:
All the rooms we saw are very small with bathrooms to match.
TV and fridge don't work.
Our room was ten meters away from a kitchen chimney with the smell of cooking oil blowing in.
Breakfast is ample but is served to you and is the same every day. You need to like boiled eggs!
There is no access for vehicles to the hotel entrance which is in an alleyway. Luggage has to dragged 30 meters from the nearest road. I say dragged because the surface is uneven brick. This makes if very difficult with a strong possibility of damage to luggage wheels.

Despite the excellent location I would have stayed elsewhere knowing what I know now.
